I bought my ELM327 and Torque Pro software (android) a week or so ago and have been totally absorbed ever since. This is the best $20 I have spent in a long time. I took some screen grabs of all the dials then printed them out and stuffed it in my documents folder with my service receipts. I can then reference back to see if anything is changing.

It is great to watch the water temp move around in real time. My dial will bounce around from 170 to 190, heat up, thermostat opens, cool fluid comes in, temp goes down till thermo closes, repeat. Just the way it should, makes me think I am OK with my thermostat.

On the other hand keep popping P0480 and P0481 codes so I have something amiss with my fan.

It would be great if one of you OBD oracles could define what all of the stuff really means. Intake PSI for one.

I think that it would also be nice if we could outline the proper setup and vehicle profile and post in in the CRD Tech forum. That way we can have a common platform to compare settings.

The blue tooth OBD adapter is available on e-bay and Amazon search for ELM327. Torque pro is in the Google Play app.

Has anyone tried any of the iPhone apps to see if they are as good as Torque Pro? I'd love to set this up in my Jeep but I have an iPhone. There do appear to be a few apps like this in the app store but I was hoping someone here was familiar with one that works like Torque Pro and actually works.

Just a note on the bluetooth ELM327 adapters on ebay. If it comes from Hong Kong and has a miniature cd with the drivers on it, it may be a virus. The computer drivers that came with my adapter held a virus, according to a couple anti-virus softwares.

Just a head's up in case you're gonna use it with a laptop!

He swears he can stop any time.

You won't need the cd or what's on it, mine worked fine without it, put the cd in garbage.
Besides most android devices can't read a cd.

I got DashCommand a few weeks ago for my iPhone. Seems to work pretty good. I can read my air flow at idle and lots of other instruments.

Just make sure you don't leave the ELM327 in the data port when you leave/shut down the vehicle. I did that and when I came back, alarm went off, would not shut down from the key fob, engine shuts off, threw some codes (which you can clear with the APP).
