Surprisingly I have not changed my filter since I bought the CRD. I now have 23K on the vehicle without any problems. I have no idea how long it was changed before I bought it. I run my own Diesel additive with increased cetane for winter. I don't think US diesel is as bad as everyone thinks. It is clean and the sulfur is below 15ppm. It was bad when I had my diesel truck in the 80's.

Not a good idea to go extended periods between changes. If has any restriction, it will cause the cp3 pump to work harder leading to premature wear. The old Bosch VE pumps did not like running with plugged fuel filters. Some are luckier than others, though I don't like playing around when it comes to an expensive pump. My :2cents:
