The jeep started to idle rough but drives fine and threw p0303 and p0201. Then my old lady called me and said it died leaving her friends house. So I got the trailer and went to get her. I got there and turned the key and all the idiot lights are on and odometer says no bus and it won't crank. I get home and it started and everything was normal. So I go to unload it the next morning and it won't start. I checked the codes and got p1001, p0513 and u0146. Was wondering if anybody had this issue before or new where to start to figure out problem?

Bad or going bad battery can cause odd start problems. So can a cracked actuator pin that runs from the key assembly under the steering column to the ignition switch on the left side of the column.

+1 on the Battery, check the voltage.

P0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire

P1001 - Ignition key off too fast

U0146 - Lost communication with central gateway

P0201 - Fuel injector #1 circuit fault

Check the wiring harness on top of the intake by the #3 injector, it's probably rubbing on something and is causing a short, which will discharge the battery, which will give all of these DTC's.

Inspect all the wiring to the ECM on the driver's side and all the wires leading out of the ECM to the top of the intake, specifically paying attention to the wiring coming out of the bundle for the intake/injectors area.

I hope this helps, and I hope you find it CHEAPLY.

Good luck!

Haven't had much time to mess with jeep but my old lady's cousin said to put key in door and unlock and lock a few times. He said it reset the alarm system. We tried it and the jeep started and ran and she was able to drive it. Had to go out of town for couple days so it sat and when we got back its doing the same thing it was.
