That's a 70's VW Van tent. I haven't had a VW Van for years but still love the tent.

Looks like the best set up in the lot! Bet people were jealous.

Blacked out my emblems a few weeks ago. I think it looks good black on black.

Can't believe I'm saying this... I ordered my lift. 1.5" OME.

Today I crawled under the Jeep and greased the front upper ball joints and the Heim joints on the rear track bar. These are the 4 grease zerks on the JBA lift. I was surprised that 3 of the 4 joints seemed bone dry (including both ball joints). I was hearing some noises from the passenger's right side front (sort of sounded like tapping on metal) while driving home from work today, so hopefully this takes care of it. The JBA lift has been on for approximately 2000 miles now, and it's settled in nicely.

P.S. After owning an XJ previously, it just didn't seem right not to have to grease the suspension on my KK. It's nice to dust off the old grease gun again. The smell of grease and oil reminds me of my Granddad's garage when I was a kid. :D

Oil change today. The Fumoto valve makes draining the oil a snap. But man, that filter is a pain to get to! (And to reinstall...) I thought it might get easier with practice after changing it a few times, but now I'm not so sure! Still, it was a gorgeous day to be outside working on the Jeep. :D

You got that right! I've got my poker face on for whatever the installation price is gonna be. Just got back from the 4x4 shop up the road. He told me to email him my part numbers so he could come up with a quote. I included in the email it's a direct swap/replacement of parts and a picture of the goodies.

If he doesn't email me back tomorrow, I'll give him a call. I want this installed A.S.A.P.

Also, if possible, trying to not let my girlfriend find out to see if she notices the lift. :seuss:

LMAO Arctic. She's definitely observant, but I would love to see the reaction.

Gageraid, are you doing a top plate and clevis lift too or just spring/shock?

Have you thought about installing it yourself? Its really not that hard to do and only requires a few tools. I compress my springs myself but if you take them to a shop with the other parts they'll do it for you.

Atthehelm has a good point...if you get someone with tools and some knowledge it's really not too difficult except the spring compressing part. I did mine in one day and I'm sure many others have. JBA has instructions for their lift and it's not too much different.

I thought about it briefly. I did most of the work on my last car (1977 Road Runner), but I don't have any real tool heads nearby to help me out. I think with something like a lift, I'll let a professional do it. Trust me, I don't feel good about letting someone work on my Jeep.

Not adding anything besides the shocks, springs, etc.

What I did and it made it level at 21" all around was put 1/4" Clevis spacers on the front. And that leveled it out for me. If that's the look you want

At first, I wanted it level, but convinced myself to leave the rake. I appreciate the input, though.

I think the rake is a safe move if you haul stuff frequently. I had one lifted vehicle that I set the stance level, but when loaded up to go on a trip it was always sagging from the weight. The rake seems to eliminate this. I went OME HD all around. Hopefully this does the trick for my Libby. Just gotta get it installed!
