Morning commute was the kinda day that I wish I had a dashboard camera installed...drove through some wicked flooded areas, including one that was about to get to the bottom of my doors (not fast moving luckily).

Bumpstops came in the mail on Saturday, been drooling to get the OME kit in so I can get it installed! :frankie:

This reminds me of how I just drove through a huge flooded area today. I can thank the OME lift for getting me through it with no problem.

X2! Great looking KK, Carlos. :JEEPIN:

Today my jeep is getting a little TLC after 3 weeks of camping and hard wheeling in the PA mountains. I leveled out the front using the Adjust-a-Struts, then got an alignment. The front had lost over a half inch of lift since the install as things settled, and had begun pulling to the right on the highway. The alignment issues may have been due to the rocky trails I was on. The other issue that cropped up was a burning rubber smell from the engine compartment. My mechanic is looking with suspicion at the front crankshaft seal, and I'll know more tomorrow.

One last question for you KK folks: when I was wheeling my Scangauge showed the coolant temp got up to 218 degrees before the fan kicked in to bring it down. Is that a bit high, or is that normal for wheeling in 4 Low on a hot day? Thanks!

With a market Flooded with Moabs down here people are basically giving those bad boys away

Only reason I have a hard time justifying getting them is that i would have a hard time trying to get a two tone paint job on them lol!

I love the way they look on our KK's though

Two tone paint? I would immediately paint them black. Guess I wish I lived near you to pick up a set. Someone near near me just sold 5 Moabs with tires for 300.

Took it to the dealer to get the transmission fluid serviced. 49K miles. I hope it gives a slight boost to my already pretty good mpg.

Edit: If I ended up with the moabs they would be getting murdered out.

Ordered an on board air compressor (if I can find a place to mount it) and tire deflators so I can head up to silver lake next weekend hopefully

ome hd, ome stuts, al's top plate and 3 clevis conduit nuts. stock uca's so far so good.

talking with the mechanic at the alignment shop we told me a trick that he was done in some lifted cars to compensate the uca drop and help the aliment and is to make a spacer between the uca's ball joint and the knuckle, he said i have about an 3/4" of thread left there and can try to make a spacer there with a nut and some heavy washers. he's never done it on the kk but... you can try.........
what do you guys think about that.

There was a 4Runner parked at the shop where I was getting an alignment yesterday that had a ball joint failure. Not pretty. The front wheel was bent sideways and up, and there was a lot of damage internally and to the body where it had collapsed under its own weight and slid down the highway... I don't think I would attempt the spacer because the ball joint would be more likely to fail where it connects to the control arm. I have a 4 inch lift with JBA's UCA'S and my alignment came back perfect yesterday. JBA's UCA'S are the way to go.

Went out to do a little work on the farm for the big afternoon
Image

We see here, a natural Liberty, known as the Jeep KK, prowling the fields looking for prey
Image

Afterwards, decided to finally try to put the tail light guards back on. An hour and family sized bag of chips later, they won't fit without rubbing issues. Tried all different variations of tightening vs. loosening, even took a 2x4 and a hammer at it :|

Washed and waxed it for the first time in ages. Finally getting ready to take the plunge and invest in a lift and new tires... talked to my tire guy and going to try out some of the new Hercules Terra Trac A/T II's for pretty cheap. Figured it was time to say the hell with the warranty since they really don't like to fix stuff on it anyways.

Looks great chilling in that high grass! Bummer to hear about the tail light guards. I hope a few other companies come out with some in the future that fit better.
