I am thinking of having a friend do some for me over here in NH. Gonna see what he is going to charge me. I dont want to deal with lines blowing ever again on me.

Thanks for the idea.

Btw what size pipe did they use? not sure if you mentioned the size? ID and OD and wall thickness would be great!

Today, I went by that muffler shop and had two sets made out of aluminum. One set is for my fathers CRD, and the other as a spare set.

How would you feel about having more sets made?

I would be interested in a set.

Can you shoot me a price?

Could you post a link to the name & contact info for of the muffler shop where you got these made?

We do not have any mandrel bending shops within an hour.

Thanks

"How would you feel about having more sets made?"

Everyone that expressed interest in the tubes received a private message from me prior to going to get this set made, and no one followed through and/or had already made something similar.

"I would be interested in a set."

I currently have an extra set, I may sell it in the future just not now. (I have a relative that is actively looking for a CRD.)

"Can you shoot me a price?"

If and when I sell that set I will not separate it. It will be sold as a set. The price would be what I have into it. It's at the beginning of this thread. Plus what ever shipping costs are involved.

In order for this muffler shop to duplicate the tubes your CRD must be there for fitment, the tubes length, and adjoining angles vary slightly.

ATXKJ, thank you for fixing the link.

When I get a chance I will post some pictures of my fathers.

Thanks. I assumed they would all have the same bends. Never assume.

Let me Know if you want to sell.

Does anybody know of a shop that does Mandrell bending in Illinois or western Indiana. I'm about 90 miles south of Chicago, About 90 miles north of Champaign, about 2 hours east of Peoria and about 20 minutes west of Morocco, Indiana.

The last time I looked, the only mandrel bending shop I found was in Woodstock, Illinois. Way to far away. Especially going that direction.

Pointing out the obvious, how is your extra set you may or may not sell, going to fit if the KJ was not wasn't at the shop when the set was made?

11-14-2011 I take my jeep to the muffler shop and get the first tube done stainless steel.

12-12-2011 Again I take my jeep to the same muffler shop second tube (aluminum) and project complete.

Image

6-18-2013 My dads CRD busted his turbo hose, (difficult to drive the CRD with a busted boost hose to the shop, even on flatland). So of course I drove MY CRD to the muffler shop, they removed and duplicate that set (Identically) x2.

ImageImageImage

When I took the set to my dad for installation, (at his house and for his jeep) he attempted to install however one of the tubes required the angle of an adjoining port to be shaved off about a 1/4 of an inch for fitment because it was touching.

I can only speculate for the variation that my dads motor mounts may be compressed more than mine do to the fact that his CRD has a little over 100K over my CRD causing the minor variation???

Additionally, I don't care to sell the extra set at this point. Merely, sharing my experience/information as does everyone else on this forum. For those interested enough, all you need to do is locate a shop near you willing to take on the task as others have done.

Tony - is your Dad's an 05 or 06?

the engine's should be the same - but the 06's had some pieces moved to make room for the ESC pump - normally it's only a concern on wiring - but it might be enough to tweak a hard tube a 1/4" and not be noticeable on flexible tubes.

My dads is a 2006 sport with approximately 186,???, mine is a 2005 limited with 85,???.

Didn't realize that until now that you mentioned it, even more so that the tube that was required to be shaved 1/4 inch was the one closest to the ESC pump.

That is another very likely possibility, thank you for sharing the information.
