Why are they so inexpensive?

1) They are thin, steel, sheet metal which is relatively cheap
2) In comparison to high dollar skids, they are barely welded, and certainly by a machine
3) Most important, they are made in vast, vast quantity.

for the oem ones, when you order them from jparts, is there a hardware kit that i need to get too? or just a bag of bolts from a hardware store? or do they come with what i need?

My wife found a least expensive mopar gas tank skid at http://www.wholesalemopar.com/parts_catalog.html.

Search by year and engine size and there you have it. It was $127 shipped for us.

This thread really hasnt been touched in 2 years but what are you looking for in the way of armor I dont know how easy some of it will be to get into russia? I mean here in the states we have front and rear bumpers and everything from factory skids to heavy duty (6.35MM) aircraft grade aluminuim to full on flat bottom 1/4 (6.35mm) steel set ups. Depends on what you wheel in on how you wheel I run aluminuim because i am mostly and expo style rig but still play in the rocks alot.

It is not a big problem to deliever parts to russia just takes much time or much money. We had asfir dealer here in Moscow but now they are dead as i see - nobody answer by phone. I thinking about GDE turbo kit and then i can add armor to my order couse there is not much difference in delievery cost. And may be OX lockers if they still produce lockers for chrysler 8.25. Right now i have no choice but mopar skid plates here or custom steel (or aluminium) plates by private garage services couse i am the organizer of offroad competition near polar circle and cant go there without any armor. So maybe ill sell it then ill order right parts.

So i see you have very nice modded libby and red your thread with pleasure.
Sorry my french (:

You fine I went to school with a few Ukrainians so I understand you just fine. And thank you love my Libby she has done everything I have wanted her to do so far. And I quite enjoy my Asfir skids they have held up great over the years and still look brand new. If I was you I would get up a large order from a single dealer and freight ship it there. Or you might be able to get a member here to get all your parts together and box them and freight ship them to you. And there is and Asfir dealer in the states yet who shipped their skids cross country for me for real cheap might want to try them.

Because of the lackluster response from the KJ world, Asfir has discontinued parts four our chassis. That's why they were selling them at <$150 for each plate. I picked up the last front, and second to last mid and rear that were available. This was about 4mo ago.

That being said, I am glad I got the set!

I am sure you could get a set directly from Asfir and post directly from Israel... Since they are CNC bent and water cut parts.

Yep, and those are the prices I paid a few months ago when I was told the information posted above. Since they are designed on a CAD, it would be simple enough for the company to spit out a single order for a price.... all it takes is a call or two.

Maybe there are some more left in the US, but who knows at this point if you don't call.
