Well, how'd it turn out?

Stuck (sticking) right rear caliper. Didn't stick when it was cold, but after a few good stops, it heated up enough and started to stick.

Fortunately, nothing else was damaged from the sticking, so we *should* be good to go.

I may have the same problem. I've got just over 1,000 miles on my '06. After the vehicle sits for a while and then I go somewhere, I'm hearing a sound that seems like a rear brake dragging. It only lasts for a mile or so. Has anyone else had this problem?

That's the infamous 'brake moan', usually caused by rust forming on the brake discs due to humidity or moisture (rain, etc.) It makes a nice grind/crunch sound until it wears off, basically.

I think there was a TSB or service bulletin on this issue, but I don't know it offhand. I'm sure others will chime in...

I did a search and found a reference to TSB 05-001-04. It seem kind of old to apply to my 2006. How do I get a copy of the TSB?

My brake moan went away and I'm betting yours will too. I've got 25000 on the crd now and haven't heard it for about 6 months.

my rear caliper stuck on my 05 renegade at 21K... they replaced the rotor, both pads and a caliper... the part was on backorder and they had another liberty in the shop for the same problem while i was picking mine up. seems to happening frequently to the KJ's...
