I'm in the middle of changing my front diff fluid and have a question. There is an oring on the drain bolt ... I did not see this mentioned in any writeups (or the chilton manual) ... does it need to be replaced? The dealer doesn't have them or keep them in stock, and said he didn't think it's something normally replaced. Just checking. Not that there's much I can do now! It's still soft so I'm guessing it's fine? Also noticed some green stuff on the plug around the head. Do I need to put any kind of threadlocker or sealant on it? All the writeups I've seen just say put them back in and make them snug. That's what I am planning to do but figured I'd doublecheck. Forgive me if this is addressed somewhere ... I'm doing everything on the phone now and it's very hard to search.

I just cleaned the o-ring and the surface under it. Hasn't leaked a drop yet. I didn't put any goop on the fill bolt, either - just cleaned it well and tightened it properly.

Ah, thanks. I ended up just putting the same one back in, but now that I know what to get I'll swap it on the next change. I just cleaned it up and tightened it snug. So far no leaks, but I'll keep an eye on it.
