The revived "new era" muscle cars fully loaded with every option and max hp (biggest engine available) from the big 3. Then to appeal to the cutesy crowd, one of every lil gas saving rolling coffin on wheels. Seal them all up in an air tight vessel tucked away in climate controlled warehouse and you'll be set in 50 or so. Then again you'll need the money to pay all the debt back for such a purchase :jester:

Once upon a time a kid graduated from high school and got a job working in the strip pits. He made good money and the year was 1968. He lived with his parents and bought a new Camaro loaded to the max for that year. Hauled it home and stuck it into the barn. Next year, bought a fully loaded 1969 Z-28 with everything, and he continued to do that for the next 13 years. He had a building built just for his cars, each hauled home, no miles, on jack stands, covered , heated building . Lost track of what hes doing anymore though. He used to drive some of the rattiest cars and pickups going for his DD. Unless he got married in the last 5 years, never married, lived with his parents and worked / went home/ worked went home........
NOW if we would of all been smart like him............................. :ROTFL: or would of at least kept some of the cars we had back then

Buddy of mine has a 1964 1 ton IH pickup with flatbed/gooseneck, top speed is 55 mph, but it will pull a house down.

My farmer neighbor has at least 2 large barns full of cars, maybe 3, they have them stored everywhere. Many of them are corvettes, I know they have grandpa's '58 Cadillac wtih 38K miles, plus 1st gen camaros, few Mopars, etc. What's a farmer to do when the crops are growing....restore old cars of course!
He built a big new house a few years ago, I was told he has a '63 or '64 vette ( for the year he was born) store in the drive in finished basement.

Going to take the Jeep today, I'm not for cold rain at night.
So I let Momma know that she needs to take the Honda today because I am not going to ride, her response, "Sure go ahead and take the Honda" :ROTFL: :ROTFL:
I have now removed her Jeep key from her key ring   :pepper: Now I have to hurry up and leave before she finds out :ROTFL:
Ohhhhhhhh and now she shouts from upstairs "how's the Scout hunt going?"
:pepper:

To those that have had the unique experience to come to my home you know there was a big ditch across the road .
Now after a week of work it looks like this
Image
What I do find interesting though is the fact that although the address is a county road it is in fact a Township road . I was comparing photos of the road here to the ones down home and there appears to be some difference. Taxes make a huge difference.
Road going home, just not quite the same. :-)r

Just the township road going up home, its about 3 miles long with only two homes on it, my Grandparents old place and my Mom and Step Fathers . Goes clear through and runs into another road that looks just the same

Catching up,
* Front bumper torn off the KJ , cutting / drilling/ redoing the brackets to move it in closer to the front of the Heep. About 1/3 of the way done , heading out as soon as the neighbors wake up to finish

** Good letter from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services yesterday regarding my wife, one step/ one government agency closer to having the OK to come back. Nothing on the paperwork for my son yet though. :(

*** Larry stopped by to drop off a much needed tool for the bumper revision last night
Thanks Larry for everything .

Tom, that road down home must be a lot of fun in the KJ during a nice winter storm, eh?

A lot of my customers in Pennsylvania have roads and "driveways" that look like that. Every time I drive one in a snowstorm in the comfort of my Jeep I wonder how folks did it in the horse & buggy days

 Yes Bob , quite fun, that second picture starting up the hill my sister was able to turn a big old Olds 98 completely sideways. She walked up said go get my car out of the ditch. Walked down and there that thing was bumpers touching either side , what a mess. Now if I went on up taking pictures about that much farther is the home place, ( my Grandfathers) my Mom and her 4 sisters walked that every day to get to the school bus. Well come to think of it my sister and I did as well .
Yes not sure how Grandpa made it up and down with horses etc back in the day. we used to sled ride from on up at the top of the hill to the bottom. ( where first picture was taken ) by the time you hit the last curve you were flying . :ROTFL:

Heres the laugh of the day;

This guy is working on his front bumper,
has the cut off wheel on the Metabo,
bumper bracket in the vice firmly,
Jeep is covered to protect it,
he starts cutting on the bracket,
sparks are flying back at him,
he smells something, then his lower belly gets real warm,
stops cutting and looks down and his t-shirt is blazing away
nice 4 inch and a 2 inch hole in it now

:ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL:
:banghead: :banghead:
