I got a letter from the local Chrysler dealer saying I got to take the jeep there for a recall, anyone know what work is involved to get this done?
I really hate to take the jeep to any mechanic, I do all My own work on My vehicles and My experience is every time I took a vehicle to any of this morons it comes back with something I got to deal with later, sorry if there is any good mechs out there but all the others are the reason I learned to work on My own vehicles.
Also does anybody know if I can source this part elsewhere and purchase it?

Thanks.

Just had mine done and it's merely a pigtail wiring assembly that's plug and play. The center console has to be removed to gain access to the ORC module, or so I was told. Took about an hour from the time I took it in.

I just can't help the feeling whenever I make an appointment with a mechanic (in this case jeep dealer) that something else will go wrong after a visit to their shop, its been My experience many times and that is the reason I learned to do all the work on My vehicles, unfortunately they don't want to sell Me the part.

They will not sell you the recall part, against the law.If they do not install it the recall was never done and you have no recourse against them if you mess it up.
