Haha just seeing what my options are about sfa ideas and evey possibility out there. I am wanting to possibly redo the rear end with another tri link setup to keep the onroad ride. Would it be possible to sit low enough maybe 4-4.5in up front withan sfa lift? Radius arm of course.

Be really hard if not impossible to only go with 4 inches of lift on a SFA'd KJ
Why not just go with a good 4 inch lift and be done if thats all you want?

Mainly trying to look at the possibility of cutting an sfa build in half and in the end have a 4.5-5.5 inch sfa lift all around. I was thinking possibly I could lift the rear to 4.5 inch's or so and do a radius arm in the front with an hp30 and see how low it functions well. Then later on down the road when I have decided what to do in the rear redo the rear but for now just change the angle on my try link extension to take as much stress out of the bushing.

Even with cutting the frame all up, that may not work. With mine we were trying our hardest to stay real low, but the issue was the pumpkin and the oil pan, and then the frame and exhaust ussues when flexing. we had it real nice, right where I wanted it, but as soon as we put it in reverse, the motor torked, and the weight shifted, and I was an 1/8" from contact with the axle. it looked mean though
As for the rear axle staying stock, I think you can, if I recall, I think Wally has the 8.25 corp still in back of his.

Thinking of checking out the angles in the stock lca mount to see if I could possibly just run adjustable lowers in the stock lca mounts and a custom upper setup. Dout full the angle looks pretty steep. Thinking it would be easier to just make new lca mounts.

I may never sfa just a dream and if I have the money i think I could do the swap.

-I want to run a 33-34in tire
-Stock width hp30 or hp44
-Stock 8.25 rear end 4.88-5.13
-Frame stiffeners similar to rock lizards I may even just use the rl stiffeners and crossmember. Thinking traditional 5 link setup that rl uses is my best bet for what I'm going to be asking if my kj.
-Radius arm front with 10-14in CO(dreaming of 14-16in travel in the front)
-12-14in rear shocks springs tbd
-* stock rear spring setup for now.
-*(I want to inboard some shocks in the rear 14-16in travel CO's in the future)
-wj knuckles with custom links.
-e350 steering box

I'm sure I'll be posting more soon as I get my list theoretically priced. I do plan on doing 90% of the labor and welding.

4.88's is the max for the 8.25 and that will require ring gear mods(grinding part of a tooth off for the center pin).

You could always do the wj clayton rear long arm setup. That's what I'm gonna use when I redo my rear end. I'll wait till the D30a blows up to SFA

EDIT: or zj or xj. They seem to be the same to me but I may be mistaken.

4.88's are fine with me I only plan to run 33-34's. I do link the Clayton wj rear end. I think the Clayton xj rear kit is even cooler. They have a double tri rear for the xj. I considered that setup until I sold my self on the frame stiffeners pockets design. I really like the Clayton xj rear end beside the fact that it hangs down slightly instead of being tucked up on the frame rails.

P.s. Already blew my front diff blue kj sucks spending money on parts not for sfa when sfa is all over my mind.

Going to very very slowly build up parts. Starting with the cheaper stuff and the stuff I can make in my machine/welding shop I take classes at.

You got me thinking about the Clayton xj rear end again. I don't plan to run huge tires right off the bat so kinda shying away from anything that hangs down that far. Also curious about how is handles rear steer.

Would run this in a heartbeat if I had an xj

Shifting towards the rock krawler xj rear end setup. Similar to the Clayton zj and wj rear ends.
