Chaps in Australia it took some chasing early on but most have seemed to use Xerex- G-O5 (Valvoline) with the need to cal Valvoline Head Office and find specialist machinery repairers prepared to retail the product. Substitution seems to lead to trouble but I could be corrected on that one. This product is now more readily available. I had some long discussions with Valvoline reps and they took it on board.
It is good the source of Mann filters was located!!

I recently found some good Export manuals that can be had on DVD from the UK for around 15 USD including postage.
They cover all models sold to the export market and parts fiche and run the series from 2003 through to 2007. It is taking some reading but there are differences to the manual I purchased X the US model immediately after I purchased the Jeep.
There are some subtle differences between the original US FSM and the Export FSM.

There is a separate section on the engine and cooling system for 2005 / 2006 that is useful.

For example the Racor filter is covered in the early models for Export and the service intervals are slightly different.

Offering this to be of help: perhaps joining Alldata or the like would be useful as it lists the necessary parts and gives the expected time for a mechanic to carry out a job - also well illustrated and explained.

I'd presume the language would be Spanish as that's apparently the most spoken in Mexican so the wording for engine coolant could be something like "liquido refigerante del motor" which could lead one to see it as refrigerant.

Hope that is useful.

You can get the Manuals for the Export 2.5/2.8 Export diesels on the link in Sams' Noob Thread as well....covers the different engine and Racor filter (up to 2004 only!) and has the circuit diagrams. Definitely needed for those of us with early Export CRDs.

I'd suggest you start another string entitled something like HOAT antifreeze options for the export market or maybe just antifreeze options for the KJ CRD in the export market. I do not know what the export market manual recommends or what folks are using. In this market HOAT antifreeze is recommended and some have experienced significant problems using products that are not HOAT such as "universal" or OAT antifreeze.

HOAT antifreezes I am familiar with are 5 year or 50-100,000 mile, whichever comes first, products. As I understand it the change interval is based on degradation of the antifreeze's chemistry that provides protection from corrosion in the cooling system not its ability to protect from freezing so in that sense waiting matters only in the corrosion protection area. I have heard but know nothing about products that are "supposed" to resort corrosion protection with an antifreeze change.

As to whether or not that Valvoline product is HOAT I have no clue.

I thought Valvoline was an American brand... Sounds English to me...
I've run a test on the percentage of antifreeze in water I have in the cooling system and it is only at 20%. The mechanic says 33% is the minimum supposedly... I hope it doesnt corrode so much the cylinders lid... I'll have to wait like 2 months to be able to flush all the old liquid and change it again. Cant do it in the country i am at cause it is too expensive...

I've long since given up trying to figure out corporate ownership. In any case Valvoline's line of antifreeze up here is sold under the Zerex brand name and the product you want is Zerex G-05, see http://www.valvoline.com//products/cons ... ntifreeze/

How Valvoline's brand names work in your area I don't know.

I am well aware they are there.
I have just noted in the short time I've had them there are subtle differences between the ones I just acquired and the ones herein.
The Racor head was just an example as the OP used filter heads as his opening..

For the purpose of Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep the answer is no at least for the 05/06 years. To the extent I've seen antifreeze recommendations they have been for Company X vehicles for model years A-C use antifreeze type ZZZ. In fact Valvoline/Zerex used to have a handy chart (similar to the one at http://www.tomkennedyautorepair.com/ant ... _chart.htm) posted on their website for a variety of Companies but I'm no longer able to find that chart. I have a hunch the Companies got annoyed at the chart being available as it would encourage owners to use the Valvoline product rather than the more pricey OEM product. Back in the dim past there was one antifreeze and it was, IIRC, green but then blocks and heads were iron and radiators were copper. Then alloys came in along with plastic and aluminum and antifreeze chemistry changed so that Zerex now has 5 different antifreezes for various applications. Other companies have different products and there is less than zero consistency in color between the products. Not to mention there is, IMHO, no such thing as a valid "universal" antifreeze although there is a universal coolant which is plain water but that freezes and will boil at a lower temp than a mixture of antifreeze and water not to mention providing no corrosion protection.

You can see an OEM antifreeze chart example at https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... Wc&cad=rja

PS I was able to find a repost of that Zerex chart at http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q= ... Wc&cad=rja
