So today I met Texasrugby911. His Jeep = Awesome
It looks even better in person. I can't wait to wheel with him.
Image
Image

Any way we took some measurements and he is sitting about 2" taller in the back. The measurements taken from the wheel well.
We have the same size tires, my wheels are 16x7 his are 16x8.
He has a steel rear bumper which adds an extra 100 or so pounds.
He installed his 1 year before mine. Both have Bilstein 7100s shocks with no extra isolators.
my rear coils have more binding on the top and bottem than his.
I'm curious as to how mine has dropped 2 inches lower than his. I called Marlin and he said he's going to look into it.
Any one have any ideas?

First what other kind of weight does each haul, have you pulled a trailer a lot, or wheeled more than he has? All kinds of factors come into play.
Also shocks have no effect on height so has to be in the springs. Throw a couple of extra isolators in and be even with his if that is what you want.
By the way what was yours to begin with? Are you sure you have settled that amount or maybe it started close to that ?

My 4 inch springs have settled since I installed them last year, but then I haul a lot more weight than most with tools/spare parts/5 gallon extra gas, pull a trailer a good bit/etc

For me its just another wear item and know that there is no lifetime warranty on them

No I rarely use the trailer. If I remember right it started close to his height. I don't have center of the wheel measurements on me but mine from ground to fender is 36" his is 38". How many isolators would I need? My front struts are also really cranked dow with the crd speings. His are only adjusted maybe half of mine with standared springs with a steel bumper ar the same height.

You got the 2 inch lift, but dreamed you had the 4.;).
But did you measure when first installed, so you know you lost the 2 inches? Could you have gotten 2 instead of 4 inch and not have known until the comparison?

Might be a really dumb question/suggestion since I know nothing about the JBA 4 inch, but could they not be the right springs?
Both Jeeps looks great by the way.

Ground to fender doesn't tell you spit when it comes to comparing between two different ones
Most times CRD springs are a bit shorter than gasser springs
To gain two inches of height you'd need to use (4) extra per side iso's which of course is not a good idea

Both Jeeps looks great by the way.

2 inch springs/4 inch springs but if he thinks he was about the same height when installed then he must of had 4 inch
Right now hes worried too much about what he saw in the shower room
and thinks he maybe coming up short

Not sure how much he has wheeled but I'd say from reading you have done way more so your's would of course taken more wear and sagged more

Are there any markings on the springs? I thought I remember JBA's spring supplier printing codes/part #s on the springs.
My ome lift with 927s/731s is about 21" all around if that helps any. I only have two conduit nuts per side (no top plates) and some diy isolators that equal one oem iso per side.

Texasrugby911 has had both bumpers on for a year now and wheeled it hard in Germany, if anything you'd think his suspension would have more wear on it.

That's why I really suspect the wrong springs.

I'm starting to also. When I first put it on I was at 24" but with in s Month I was down to 22" and 21.5". I had a buddy who put his on last week measure and he's at 23.5. I'm not home right now but I'm going y o check what its currently at when I get there.

Definitely look for the part number on the springs.
I know my OME part number tags are still there, but I haven't even been lifted a year yet.

4 inch kit coil over JBA kit, there is only one set of rear coils available
At least that's all I am showing in my book (JBA main catalog)
He has 2.5 inch/4 inch/6 inch
There are no other rear springs that fit

Maybe I got the 2.5" rear springs accidently.
I just measured again. It as 22 passenger and 21.5 driver side. I couldn't find the numbers on the coils.
Here's my rear coils, notice how close the bumpstops are. Is this normal for a 4" lift?

Here are my front struts with CRD springs.
Image
Here are his tighened down about half of what I've got mine at.
Image
What are the measurements of y'all running the 2.5" lift?

With that bumpstop yes it is about right
I cut over 1/2 inches off of lfhowards so it wasn't so tall and he has the 4 inch
Since new is what ? around 18 inches you're in the 3.5-4 inch range

You do know that the same front setup is used on the 1.5-2.5-4 inch right?

I know the fronts are the same, but they don't look the same when viewed in person. Mine are really cranked down. His are not, but we are at almost the same height. I'm a little lower.
I've had another local guy who got his lift a week or so ago measure his at 23.75"
It's possible that his hasn't settled and TexasRugby just got a 6" springs.

If only a week or so then no his hasn't settled in fully yet

So if this other guy is at 23.75 he is over 5.75 inches of lift
got it cranked a little high doesn't he?
Or did he get the 6 inch ?

I can't stop looking at the difference between you and TR911's front end. Your springs shouldn't be stacked like that at all. There is zero uptravel allowed with it like that. Is the lower spring the tender (softer) spring on that set up? How does it ride?
