I got my notice yesterday, even though I had already verified that I qualify via the website.

Too bad they won't have parts until August.

I recieved my letter yesterday as well. I'm attaching a scan of it so everyone can see exactly what it says. My CRD came with a factory installed hitch. I'm wondering if I should even take it in when they say the parts are available. I already have an OEM hitch but I wonder if the newer ones will be any better or different than the one already installed.

I think there are a bunch of folks waiting on that answer to decide if they are going to take off what they have now and take it in for the "warranty service". I personally just don't want a dealer touching my jeep. Wonder if they'll let the customer install the warranty item..

Maybe they'll give me a Wrangler Unlimited to use as a loaner until the parts become available? :JEEPIN:

Do any of you guys know if this will affect UK based vehicles as it's sometimes hit and miss with these recalls over here. Any info would be great. Cheers Raymond

The dealer told me. Once the parts are available. If you want a new hitch, you will get one.

What did yours say?

The letter I received said that I had to wait for the parts to arrive

Same here, or I could send in invoice for my junkyard special, which might fall back off in the near future.

I sent both my reply cards in saying they had been repaired, so they would quit bugging me. Same thing I did with the F37. Why let them touch my vehicles when they both have hitches already? KJ hitches won't be worth anything in a few months so it's not like you'd be able to sell one you took off.

Mine is pretty rusty and I'm hoping to get it replaced with the recall. Do I keep it on and hope they do that, or should I pull it off before taking it in (when the parts are available, that is)? It is the OEM one so they know my car came with the towing package from factory.

Talked to my local friendly stealership a couple weeks ago, when I got the notice. They told me that some of the Liberty's aren't equipped for the hitch... but that since I already had one they would be replacing it for free. This IS the same place that argued with me as to replacing the timing chain ( Tech swore it was a chain until he looked up the parts to prove I was an idiot.
