Going to get appraisal for a brand new hood and the pieces that are broken. Send all of that cash to you(lol) then find a nice hood from a scrap yard in the same color.

You'll probably have a good chunk left over. It would cost A LOT to have a body shop paint and install a new hood and factory bumper with crash pad. Did you look to see if the steel crossmember is damaged?

Gage, I'm not sure if we get "winter gas" here in South Carolina. When i was stock I usually got around 17 and now I'm avg 16.5. I've been watching how I drive so maybe that helps.

Ah good point. We definitely get it in Jersey.
Best things I've done for mileage is just time the lights as best I can, keep the throttle body clean, and never idle. Cold starts kill mileage, too (especially in Winter).

That's awesome JeepMonkey! So did you build that yourself on top of Morgan's bumper?

Nice! Did you get a prefabbed one or build it yourself? If possible I would put the spare on the driver side.

This one is for Gage. :goink: Was checking out some other functions on my Scangauge on the way to work. GPH = gallons per hour. This number isn't all that useful when driving, as you have to divide MPH by GPH to get MPG. But, since I do a lot of stop and go driving on my daily commute, I was wondering how much gas I'm using while just idling at traffic lights. According to my Scangauge, with defrost/air conditioning off, my KK burns about 0.55-0.6 GPH at idle while stopped, with the tranny still in Drive. When I moved the tranny to Neutral instead of D, this number went down to about 0.45-0.5 GPH. What I take from this is that I can save about 17% of the gas I burn while sitting at red lights if I just flip the gear selector to Neutral. Thoughts?

Note: I am not coasting in neutral, as the transmission does not lubricate itself in those conditions and I don't want to destroy it. Also, coasting in neutral is unsafe because you have less control and must rely entirely on your brakes to stop. I am only talking about being in neutral while stopped and waiting for red lights.

Wish I read this before I went out this morning.
I have looked at this function for several months. I'll verify and add my numbers/data by tomorrow as well. The GPH is significantly higher when it's cold out in addition to a cold start. This is a reason why I would like a block heater next Winter.

So I did build it myself no prefab here the only thing I purchased was the hinge and the round 1/4" steel piece that holds the tire. And I wanted to offset it to the passenger side do to the slight lean in still having toward the driver side so I didn't want it to lean any more.

Results from the return commute: N didn't make much of a difference! Once the engine and transmission warmed up, the GPH was around 4.5-5 while stopped at idle in Drive.
