From the looks of it, he only installed those Fox extended reservoir shocks because they rode nice and had the better travel in the front. You can still mount 33"s without shocks that have a reserve resivour, you would just sacrifice some performance.

well I should say that MY cost is 500$ less because Im fabbing the adapters my self for the front shocks. That would be at least 300$ at a machine shop but you could replace the reservoir shox with emulsion shox and save 220$ and still have 90% of the performance.
the real bummer with this kit is I dont think the stock axles will handle the 20% more travel and that is why I have new axles on the way. that will more than offset the cost difference but imho Its still a much better deal than the jba4

From the standpoint of how he stuck his 33"s on it looks like what would be required would be...

3"+ Lift (minimum)
JBA UCA's (to help reduce rub)
Extended Brake lines/cables
Wheel spacers or back-set wheels (Boblemoche went with 1.25" or 2" wheel spacers)
Flatten or cut the pinch weld in the front tire wheel wells (I think there's a how to somewhere around here)
Possibly remove plastic wheel well lining if there's rub (Boblemoche didn't, but everyone's setup is different)
Trim Front/Rear bumper (Boblemoche replaced his front/rear bumpers with steel ones that allowed more room in the wheel wells)
Re-gear to 4.11 or 4.56 (depending on if want better MPG or more Power)

Oh, and 33's of your choosing. (Probably stick with 285/75/R16 BF Goodrich KM2's or GY Duratracs)

FOUR Inches plus lift , sorry I have seen 32s tried on 3 plus and 4 inch, 33 needs over 4 inches of lift
Gears, 4.56s are good for 32s, 4.56s would minimum and nothing but completely flat ground for 33s etc
4.10s you would be chugging up the road with the trans hunting for the right gear

to get an exta inch of total ride height on the kk from 31" you need to put around 2k
as tom said. new gears about 1k with labor
4" lift is not enough you may get taller but will loose a lot of useful flex because you need really long bump stop unles you want to do a lot of trimming.

imo a twin locked kk on 32"' with 4" lift and 4.56 gears can take you any were you want.

i contemplated the 33" but don't worth all the money and fabrication just to look bigger....

Totally agree with you. I'd like to go bigger but the regear/ more lift, steel diff for me , etc isn't worth it in the grand scheme of things

Totally agree with both of you. 33"s are too much work and $$ for what you get. I'm just stumped as to how he stuck 33"s in there with a fox lift that he said only gave him 3"??

I don't think it was really 3". He had to be at least 4", maybe more. If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure he did some control arm work in the rear. I don't think his 33's were 12" wide either.

Found the thread. Looks like his setup is:

JBA A arms
JBA 4'' rear springs
Eibach 12'' 500# springs
Fox Coilover reservoir 5'' travel
Fox shock reservoir 10'' travel
Custom Machined Mounting Hardware
Re-geared to 4.56
Rear Coil Spring Spacers

Although, after everything installed he said he only got around 2.5" in the front so he tossed in a 1/2" spacer in the rear hit 3" so he could fit the 33"s

Its finally done. well there are still a few bugs to work out but its drivable. Im at 3'' lift over stock with all my armor installed (approx 600#). The amount of lift in front is adjustable so I cranked the front to match the rear jba 4'' springs witch just gave me 2.5'' lift btw :( (2.75'' if I remove all the armor) I made 1/2'' spacers to jack up the rear a little more to get to 3'' witch is enough to fit 33's (with the pinch weld cut) So far the ride is great.)

i did a research trying to find options for the front suspension and found that the problem is the clevis shock mount. it needs to be custom made like he did. for the top they already have convertion plates thac can be bolt on to the stock top mount

Image

but for the bottom they need to be machined like he did

did you just make fix struts for our jeeps
