Will a provent set of the check engine light can't find anything about it any advise would be much appreciated if I was to buy a GDE tune would I still need the provent

Will not set off a CEL, you do not need it with a tune, as you will not get the sooty mess in the intake, if any thing it should help dissolve the sooty mess leaving connected and doing the ORM until you get the tune.
