Hi and yes I have read the Sir Sam Noob Section.. I also am a Sales Consultant at a Dodge Chrysler Jeep Dealership since '06..

1st off I bought an 06 CRD with 114,xxx, put 500 miles on it and cleaned all sensors, k&n filter and tranny service done, timing belts doen at 100k, updated fuel head and filter, muffler delete

2nd I just got an ECO tune from keith, I was curious if i should do the GP at all?? Or do I just keep driving it until it fails, I maintain everything I own meticulously and dont wanna be stranded. It starts right up after cranking for about 2-3 sec's

I've only owned it for 3 weeks and done everything listed to it since then.. Any input would be great guys

To answer your question, replacing your GPs is your call... If you have the original ceramics. Some people prefer to leave the original ceramic GP's in until a code gets thrown since the original ceramics perform better in very cold temps. Just know that you should stop driving immediately and replace if the code gets thrown as it is likely the ceramic tip has been compromised and the risk of a ceramic glow plug tip breaking off could result in a lot of damage. Others, like me, prefer to replace them with the steel replacements (5v kit or 7v drop in) as a precaution.

If you decide to swap them, be very careful when removing to avoid tips breaking off into the cylinder. Also, I'd suggest purchasing the intake elbow kit sold here on the forum to not only make replacing the glow plugs easier but provide many other benefits as well.

I def will be buying the Weeks kit in the next week or 2... Just wondering if I should take care of the GP now, maybe even wait till the fall to knock them out just to be sure and have peace of mind. Other than that I love the thing lol

If you're going to be doing all that work on the intake side (and since it makes the GPs a lot easer to get to), you should probably wait to do them at the same time. Doubtful it'll be cold enough in Rochester until late fall to even NEED GPs...

Yes timing belt has been done, i think it may need a thermostat tho since it doesnt get past the quarter mark for heat on the temp gauge..

You just search for Weeks and the intake will come right, prob one of the best mods you could do

I won't refute this statement, but be aware that it DOES change some fundamentals of the intake and emissions side of your engine and MAY put you in non-compliance with local emissions standards. It definitely simplifies things a bit, but if you plan on having the vehicle serviced by any shops that aren't accustomed to "aftermarket mods", be cautious. There is some engineering wisdom to some of the components that get ripped out. I personally prefer to accomplish the same target goals through other means which help keep things a little more "stock" looking.. as long as it is a daily driver.

Read up on ANY mod you plan to do to your engine and ask questions, then decide for yourself.
