I keep getting a Hood Open message and a 6 beep alarm when I am travelling over 50mph!

I have taken out the Plunger Sensor and tested the open/close circuit with a Continuity tester and it seems to work fine.

I am wondering if the arm is not pushing the plunger down far enough when the Hood/Bonnet is shut?
I am going to tape it down on my journey home from work tonight to see if thats the case.

Anyone else had this problem?

Yep, drove me potty! the bolt holding the sensor kept getting loose enough that the sensor moved enough to trigger the warning. Taped it down initially and that worked, but finally I just disconnected the sensor/ plunger unit. I kept it in the back for a while in case removing it caused any alarms. Nothing happened, so its now in the shed in my assortments box.

Did you just simply take it off, or did you take it off and join the 2 wire together to bypass the switch?

Just unplugged it and took it off.

I have solved the problem!

I stuck on a wider plastic plate onto the bottom of the foot that pushes down the plunger switch as I think that it was not contacting the plunger completely when the hood was closed.

:D
