On Wednesday I got in a pretty bad accident.
I built my truck to be as tough as it could and protect me, and it did just that. I walked away without a scratch.

Unfortunately the truck was totaled.

I loved the hell out of the thing, everyone knows how much I invested and how much work I put into it. Nearly everything on the darn thing was custom, there wasnt one thing i hadnt pulled apart on it.

I had the last piece of the puzzle ( the steel bumper from At The Helm.... painted and waiting to be installed in my garage)

I am going to see if i can buy it back ( and sell off some of the parts that as still good)
but I have a ton of stock parts, and even some after market parts that i will be selling off soon, as well as the Bumper from ATH)

I will get pictures up soon of the truck, and a list of all items. if i am able to buy back the truck and salvage anything i will include that list as well.

Unfortunately i won't be able to build another Liberty. It was a unique truck to build but came with a heavy price tag. I am looking to buy a house soon so i just cant afford to have another project truck.

Accidents happen, it can happen to anyone at anytime. Luckily I was the only one in the vehicle, i did not get hurt, and no other vehicles or people were involved.
stay safe.

So sorry this happened, Jeepin_it_real. :( Your KK was an inspiration for the rest of the LOST KK community. Glad you walked away unharmed from the accident.

Like the others, I'll be waiting to see what parts you put up for sale. The spirit of your KK can live on in other LOST KK's! :JEEPIN:
On that note, I wonder how much work it would be to swap over a pair of 4.56 diffs...?

The most important thing is that you were still here to post this...

The KK can be replaced.

But you cannot.

Hey guys, I should have a list of stuff up this weekend. The jeep was officially totaled today, so now i am weighing the options ( depending on the value i get for the truck ) of buying it back and parting it. I will have more information tomorrow. If i end up leaving it be i still have a ton of parts for sale.

Most of my truck was custom, big items like the custom vented hood louvers, custom headlights, custom dual tail lights, and much more were things that I made to my liking. i literally poured my heart into that darn truck. I wish i had it, but all i can be grateful for is what it did for me. The parts were just parts.
I am sure many of you would like a chance at my diffs especially since they had not only 4.56 gears, but also ARB lockers ( both front and rear). I wish they could go to a good home as well. I will keep you all posted. as to whether or not I can/will part it out.

as far as my next vehicle I have been looking at something that i don't need to modify to be satisfied with. right now the top of my list is a 2014 dodge ram 1500 crew cab Outdoorsman. they come with a limited slip rear diff and will have enough height to satisfy my needs. Perfect to bring people in and perfect for my hobbies.
I'll eventually throw new rubber under when the stock tires wear out and I'll be happy. Plus I figure 10 years from now if I still have the darn thing and it's paid off, maybe I can turn that into a project truck, but for now anything i get will just be kept stock.

The jeep life style is and for ever will be a part of my life. All I can say is be safe and keep on wheelin'. I'm Just Jeepin_It_Real.

Like I said, keep me in mind. 32s and 4.56s are next on my list. I may be interested in some other things(sway bar links, track bar, shocks, compressor, etc). I know there's a ton of random completely custom stuff on your truck I'm into.

Do you have any pics of the KK after the accident? I'm curious to see how bad the black revenge is.

Sorry about losing your KK, it was definitely one of a kind. But we're all glad to hear you're alright. I'm sure your next rig will surpass everyones imagination just like your KK did! Best of luck!!

If the sliders and a arms are good I'll definitely be interested in those.

Hey everyone,

Sorry i haven't been able to update you as promised. I have been running around non stop dealing with insurance and running around trying to find a vehicle.

The Accident:
Wednesday, 10/22/14. I was driving to a work function at 9:00pm. I got on a parkway which hadn't been repaired since last winter. I have driven it hundred of times before. Wednesday night had been raining incredibly hard, in fact there were some flood warnings in the on areas close to where I live. Unfortunately pot holes filled with water and disappeared. I was driving approximately 45-40 mph because of the conditions.
I hit a large pot hole in the left lane, it felt like my front driver's side tire blew out. The truck pulled to the left, and as soon as I hit the brakes the truck hydroplaned. She steering wheel was ripped form my hands and the truck b-lined for the concrete median separating both directions of traffic on the parkway. The truck smashed the concrete median about exactly where the driver's side tire was (i say was for a reason). The airbag deployed and as soon as it was inflated it was deflated. The trucks momentum was still going and the rear end started to swing around counter clockwise. I grabbed the wheel and yanked right to that the truck wouldn't turn sideways and roll. Before i knew it the truck (now missing the front driver's side tire) continued to slide across all three lanes of the parkway. I nearly hit 2 other vehicles. I then hit the right guard rail on the other side, i would approximate i was still traveling about 20mph ( still on the brake with no to no control of the truck). the truck finally came to a stop against the guard rail but half in the right lane.

When i finally stopped I analyzed the situation. I was made sure I wasn't hurt and then i made an attempt to open the door. I was shocked, it opened. I put on my hazards and got out of the truck, I knew I was stopped in a bad spot. The truck came to stop just past an underpass, around a bend. I was about 1500 feet away from the exit i need to take. I walked approximately 200 feet up the road on the shoulder out of the way of the vehicle. I stood there in the rain and watched other cars nearly hit it and hydroplane as well. I called the cops and they came.

They saw the missing tire and looked for it but could not find it. The entire front tire, brake rotor, strut assembly, all gone. Another police unit came and drove up and down the parkway looking for the wheel. they could not locate it.

The after math:
I talked to insurance and they had an adjuster go out, needless to say the truck was totaled. They originally gave me a low ball offer but i looking online and found vehicles were going for more and they honored it. I recouped none of the value of aftermarket parts. I asked about buying back the truck and if i chose to do that my insurance would be dropped unless the vehicle was completely repaired and made road worthy again. so unfortunately guys I wont be able to part it out. BUT i do have the name of the salvage yard who is auctioning the truck. and will add it to the bottom.

Things i learned and you should all consider, get endorsements for your aftermarket parts. if it's street legal, and can pass state inspection it's worth it. you might add a bit more a month to your policy but in the long run you can reap more benefits in the event of a loss of your vehicle.

The truck is is being auctioned at Insurance Auto Auctions

Lot #14049286

66 Peconic Ave

Medford, NY 11763-3274

(631)207-3477

should be happening at the beginning of next week. I cannot bid on it ( thought of that already). But I hope maybe one of you can and will put all the parts to a good home ( specifcally the differentials)

Later today I will be taking finally inventory of all the parts I do have and I will be updating here. I will also add pictures of the vehicle when i saw it the next day in the salvage yard.

Drive Carefully
