what i thought was a air in fuel line has turned out to be worse,,the fuel filter has been replaced,bright blue on heater side,i cannot find any sighn that its leaking, i checked connectors at gas tank,....problem is constant bleeding of filter and i still have misfire issues, bad ones too, not throwing any codes,I'm genuinely stumped as to how so much air is getting in, this has ruined my trip to see family

is it possible evan though i use deasl911 that the filter itself is crapped up ?

So, I see two statements:

1. You say your getting constant air in your fuel system
2. You use diesel 911 and want to know if that's clogging your filter

So, I have to ask...have you ACTUALLY determined that it is air or the filter getting clogged?

What method did you use to determine?

Lastly, does the vehicle misfire even after you get it stated?

BTW, are you able to get it started by pumping fuel head plunger?

You say you are constantly bleeding the filter but don't say if when you do that you are getting air?

If so:
1. did you recently install a new filter and leave the original "inner" filter gasket (the one on the filter head threaded shaft) in place. A double gasket there can cause an air leak.
2. grab a dry paper towel; reach down under the filter; wipe around WIF sensor. Is paper towel wet; if so WIF is loose
3. if neither of the above you are likely sucking air in one or both of the quick disconnect fittings back by the fuel tank. Drop tank (http://www.auerbach.ca/kj/lift_pump/) and replace those fittings with quality marine grade diesel rated fuel line and consider in tank fuel pump.

well army chief, i was more concerned about the fuel filter being clogged just from use,it was replaced at a dealer and has the new blue plug on the heater side,I've pulled both sensor and heater side and are bone dry everything appears tight and good,so afar I'm leaning toward connectors at fuel tank, it will start with no pumping,and it runs, its just a "misfire" thats driving me nuts,I've been purging air before i evan start it and can't make 10 miles before it misfires again,..now I'm thinking injector?? but its random on misfire i use additives because I'm in an extreme cold environment

I'm going to check wif sensor area now,.this problem started back in nov,i keep it plugged in at night, it will start it will run,but going down the road it misses,another person spoke of the fuel tank connectors going bad and replacing them i checked those and they are bone dry

See my reply on your THIRD thread. This system uses a SLIGHT vacuum from tank to HPFP. You will NOT typically see a fuel leak when there IS a leak.
