Hey guys,

I've had over pressurization of my cooling system and vomiting coolant from overflow.
I tested system with a double reagent test and found exhaust gasses in cooling system.
I blocked the egr cooler lines and tested again, same deal.

Ordered parts for head gasket and studs, etc
Pulled head, had major problems removing 1 AND 2 injectors, 3 and 4 came out by hand.

Anyway, i pulled the head and found some small cracks between valves, #3 cylinder.
I ordered a new head, and 5v glow plugs, and harness, and bought the 5 volt software from gde.

Was cleaning up parts today and was going to weld up a plug for the exhaust manifold/erg system,
and found a crack in the face of my manifold from the turbo seal area, about 3/5 inch into the exhaust runner.
this is cracked across the seal face, basically.

Is there a good source for these exhaust manifolds?
IDI does not have them, I am fearful of ordering from mopar parts america and having them sit on back order.
Rock auto does not have them.

I can probably find a machine shop to repair the crack, or i can buy the correct reagents and weld it myself.

Because it's into the runner and the flange face i'd rather buy a new one,
i'd have to machine the flange face and remove excess from inside the runner around a 90 degree angle and this seems difficult.

No prob - usually ya gotta be 'Johnny on the spot' for anything Jeep Liberty KJ 2.8L Diesel - if you log off for some consideration time, you'll return to find the listing has disappeared, like into the ozone layer

If you see it, grab it................

Unfortunately I think you just need to replace it with a new mandrel bend manifold and new big turbo. its the only option

You're joking right Mass? hmm, you got me thinking. Has anyone had a custom manifold fabbed for a CRD? What would something like that cost, and what kind of gains in efficiency would there be? New topic?
