I got my superskid in yesterday from All J. This thing is built like a brick outhouse. It was way more than what I expected. Now I just have to wait for my lift that I ordered to come in! Does anyone have any tips for putting on the superskid?

Don't do it alone. It is possible, but it will take a very long time and you up the chance of hurting yourself. It's certainly worth the work though! Good luck!

I suggest going to a place with a lift and a second pair of hands. I installed mine in my one-car garage and it was tight to do the work. You have to raise up your KJ high enough to drill straight up and put the skid on your chest to install. A real pain in the Gluteus Maximus.

An assistant is very handy.

Laying it on your chest and sliding under the KJ is the way I've done it many times.... Get one one of the bolts started and your home free. A bottle jack can be really helpful in holding one the the ends in place. But , do be careful that thing can really leave a mark on your forhead if you let it slip ! Safety Glasses when drilling is a very good idea....if you break a drill bit it could wind up in your eye (which will make the install that much harder)

Good luck

getting some help is going to be easier, but it's not impossible to put it on yourself... 8)

Or you can buy a skid row from JeepinAl and meet him in a store parking lot, pull up on a curb and he will help you install it no matter what his health is like. Just kidding It is good to have some help to do this that is for sure.

YES!!!get help for the install I did mine with help from bluelib03(orlando) and it wasn't too bad you will have to lift the front of the KJ it took probably an hour to do,but you can't go wrong with the skid it took a beatin on our Memorial day ride, one reason being I'm not lifted but it's bullet proof

I'm in the A/C business, but we have a new lift at the shop because my boss bought a race car shop. I think it will make the install easier. It is air conditioned too! :D I'll wait until my OME lift comes in so I can do it all at one time. My brother will help me, unless I can talk KJTX into helping me! Maybe a Lonestar L.O.S.T. lift party.

By the way, be careful when drilling holes. You could catch and tear a wire/cable that is above the mount that you are drilling the hole.

Also, make sure you're drilling straight or you'll have a hard time getting the bolt in and tightened.
