Got some extended front sway bar links from JBA. They were a pain to get in due to rust, but they do seem to make a difference. I don't have traction control go off nearly as much.

Changed out the crankshaft and camshaft position sensor in an attempt to solve a warm engine crank but no start issue. It didn't solve it but getting the old crankshaft sensor out was very difficult due to rust and corrosion. Ended up using a vice grip and a slide hammer to yank it out but then the new one wouldn't go in :banghead: A little scraping/sanding got rid of the rust build up in the hole and sticking the sensor in the freeze for 20 min let it pop back in with little fuss. Now if I could find out what my real issue is :dizzy:

About an inch longer? If it's anything like how lifting works, then that would be a 2" difference.

Does your kk just occasionally not want to turn over after driving for a small period of time. Like, you'll crank it over and the starter will just sputter and not turn it over?

If so I'm having the same issue. I'll let it set after a failed attempt to start and I can usually get it to start after 2 attempts but it just barely starts.

That's exactly what it is doing, I'm doing a fuel pressure leak down test as we speak. Here's the thread I started about it

In other news, I flushed my heater core yesterday and now my heater is working like a champ! I also installed a bigger intake tube for my 4.7 throttle body.

I was sceptical about whether or not it would make any improvements and in still on the fence about if it actually has but it definitely sounds more throaty at open throttle.

On top of all that I have a" gascap" warning showing up on my odometer and I'm not sure why... BlacKKat just has to cause trouble

Thank you. It was my own design (with a some input from ATH)
It is made from only 7 pieces of steel. The majority of it is one piece of 1/4" steel cut and bent to my specs.
Image
Image
Then there are 2 plate supports under the winch, a back, and 3 pieces of 3/16" to skin the front.
To accommodate the side plates I had to reroute the P/S cooler lines. I also had to shorten them each by 1.5" because they were too long.
New hole to route them through.
Image
Image
Spilt a little P/S fluid during the move but no leaks now.
Image
A side view. It only sticks out a bit more then the OEM skin.

Do you have a stock intake? If so, what adapter did you use?

after I put on my CAI for the 3.7l TB, the engine definitely had a more "throaty" sound to it. now with the 4.7l TB on with the same CAI with 2.80 ID, the engine sounds slightly more "throaty" and sounds almost like it has a supercharger on it, just like the hell cat. but you just have to listen for that wine. only happens at wide open throttle.

I honestly couldn't see the stock intake 2.5" id and a 2.80" id or 3" id perform much different. its not like the engine is sucking tons of air. it really only should make a difference with the run length and bends as well as smoothness of the tube. the only thing that would make a noticeable difference would be the filter. a paper filter versus a cotton filter. they both have their drawbacks!

Awesome build, I'm amazed at how well it all went back together. It looks like its meant to be there! If and when I do a winch mount I might be contacting you haha

Scar0, I like the winch setup. Anyone think it's possible to to this set up on a KK? http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/omel ... d-1225413/

Basically cuts the crossmember, but puts in a winch plate in it's place. Take a look. Seems pretty sturdy/safe to me. You just have to plate everything correctly.

I'd be happy to share a little info if you want, but you have to remember the KK and KA are different in the front. It may be possible to use an ATH center section in a similar way with a few adjustments..?.?

Thanks. Wish I had a better quality winch, but this one was an X-mass gift and who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth... Anything is possible with enough time, $, and engineering.

Thanks, and thank you again for your assistance with my project.

Did a little high-lift jack test.
Both front wheels off the ground. The plate did not move. I think I'm good to go.

As long as it works when you need it to, that's all that matters. Even if all it does is help keep tension for you to power through when stuck.

I would never do one like that you referenced
For one, if anything ever happened and you had a wreck if the Insurance company wanted to be jerks, right there is their opening to deny a claim.
You've cut structural metal out.

Scar0 did a fine job on his for sure, you can tell a lot of thought and planning went into it, nice job

I know there's a manufacturer out there somewhere I saw that makes a winch plate for the stock bumper. a lot like Scar0s, but possibly more fragile. the KKs are used in a lot of governmental tasks. not 100% sure how stable that plate is, but its better then nothing.

its a cool idea, but our KK bumpers are crap, we would end up chipping something that wasn't intended to be.

ooooo, just found the site!!!!!!!!
