Whoaa now, play nice everyone. I don't expect Jeep to fix it rather just disappointed that they let quality go like that. It is odd for a seam sealer to fail consistently on the same model but different years. Kinda hints that maybe the roof isn't braced properly allowing too much flex & cracking the seams. All in all, there are some pretty inexpensive ways to take care of it so I'm not too butt hurty. I take this thread as an FYI so people can find and address it before it becomes costly.

Robots handle everything from nothing, to something right before this point. That is why I'm confused.

The KK is like 200% stiffer then the KJ so what are you all doing?

I've wheeled the snot out of my KJ(more extreme flexing then most will ever see) and zero rust issues.

Who really knows, just a speculation. Either way, it will be handled once the weather is more conducive to paint and body work.

Same issue here. 2012 KK with rust stains, bubbles and cracks in adhesive and paint near the back of the roof by the tailgate, where the seems meet the quarters. The rig was my old fleet car which I bought new. 75K, Chrysler denies claim based on age, cost to repair over $2K. This is my third and last new Jeep. Poor quality. We're a Volvo family now and this is my holdout vehicle because I'd like to pay it off and lift like the old WJ for occasional weekend camping trips, but the build quality just isn't there.

Edit: I'd also noted that the roof buckles when going through the carwash. You hear the metal sound like it's bending when going through the dryers. Sure that doesn't help.

Read my reply. The darn roof doesn't even hold form going through a car wash dryer. Robots or not, cheap design. Makes me miss the ZJ, WJ and WK.

The news keeps getting worse everyone. I was washing and waxing the Jeep after the winter and I noticed some paint bubbling on the lower passenger side corner of the lift gate. Pulled the inner door panel and was appalled with what I found.

Its rusting from the inside out... :banghead: I also noticed some surface rust on the lower front passenger door corner near were it meets the fender. Since there are no paint chips there, I'm guessing its doing the same thing there.
