Any links or threads detailing a double din head unit in a kk? does anyone have any first hand experience with this?

What exactly are you looking for?! I installed a double din in my KK back in May! I'd love to help out in any way I can!

I have a double din in mine as well, no problems or anything different than any other set up.

Just get the dash kit and wire harness. Install is pretty easy, just pull the panel off the center console, unbolt stereo and bolt new one back in. I used the cig lighter outlet circuit for switched power to the deck. I also had to remove a steel bracket behind the factory stereo to get the new one and all the cables to fit as well as do a little trimming to the the dash kit.

If you have the factory subwoofer system I think you need to get the expensive canbus wiring harness.

DoubleK made one for her install I believe. I'm not sure if it's on Lost though...

I've thought about changing mine in order to get something that has CarPlay but I'm not sure anything aftermarket has the ability to control the MyGig. It would be a step down to lose that control. Plus my stock one is already touch screen but adding additional function would be great.

How well do your side pieces fit? Mine have small gaps when looking at the side. Then again it's been in there for 5+ years

surprisingly nice and tight, it's been installed for about 3 1/2 - 4 years now

Who do you guys use for units and installation kits? I've always done Crutchfield, but would be really open to looking at other decent suppliers.

Thanks! I had looked at Amazon and the prices were considerably better.

I'll be watching this with interest. Its been a few years since I dropped a deck into a car and the Liberty seems to take a much more sophisticated harness that I ever had to deal with. The one my research is pointing me towards the Metra XSVI-6522-NAV... That'll be the first time I drop over $40 on a harness!

I used the one my pioneer came with and added this harness to it so I can keep all my stereo steering wheel functions. ($85)

Haha, well in all fairness I didn't feel like installing it during the winter when it was -20 and lower almost everyday!
