I just did a couple of them, one set for me another for a customer request. The ones pictured are aftermarket, which have a different rod diameter.

They were only extended 2" because both of us are running OME rear springs..
I haven't installed mine yet but the customer said they ride was really improved.

So if I'm doing 4" in the rear I assume that I extend them4 inches right

I would install the springs first and let them settle in, then see how much lift you actually got. Actual lift numbers seem to vary with those springs. Measure from hub to flare before and after.

Now if you're doing this on the front, don't go adding 4" to links. There's a 2:1 ratio on lift you get vs length added in the coil assembly.
