What would be the benefit of a steel diff? I know for KJ it lets you guys go higher than 4.10s but KKs can already go to 4.88s...

I don't really see a need for it. I think the only reason KJ guys upgrade is because they either break the diff or want 4.56s. We can go up to 4.88s(to match the rear) and I've never heard of anyone breaking their diff....yet(knock on wood).

The weak link for the KK seems to be the power steering rack, not the front diff. It would be great if someone would figure out how to make it bulletproof.

If your talking about that "rack support brace" i built three. None of them helped the issue on the KKs.

Interesting. I had heard that the steering rack in the 2009 and up KKs was different (and better?) than in the 2008's but I never heard why. Now I hear that the KK steering is generally inferior? Can someone knowledgeable enlighten me?

And why I went old school and ditched the R&P all together on my Jeep.

107k on mine with the original rack.

I'd also like to point out that Texas rugby and myself have the 08 model. Another huge way to save your R&P is not to try and turn your wheels while they are stuck on rocks.... I'm looking at you Jeepncrowd.

When I was farting around swapping a kk cradle onto my kj... My kj rack bolted right on.

Would a kj rack be stronger than a kk rack? And woul this make it a direct swap?
