I am ready to pull the plug on a OME/Bilstein lift for my 2012. I think I'm sure that I need the 927 and 731 OME springs. Then what Bilstein part numbers is everyone using? Eventually, I will upgrade to clevis, isos, and a-arms, but this will get me started. I have the springs ordered. What Bilstein shocks do I get now? And will that be everything other than the bump stops?

*the sleeves will need to be shimmed with 1/2" washers inside the upper and lower mounts, unless you get the correct length.

OR just go with OME shocks since they actually for and are made to compliment the springs

I would like to buy the set together because I like to keep stuff matching and consistent. But the Bilstein ones would save me over $200. That's a big difference for a kit that people still seem very satisfied with.

It seems like a lot of places are out of stock of those rear ones. Has anyone used the 33-230344 in the back. The only difference is a more firm valving. I just ordered a steel bumper so this might actually be better. Thoughts?

So long as your extended shock length is 26" or less you won't break your rear brake lines. That said, stock compressed length is 13". For each 1" bumpstop (hockey puck) you add, adds 1.5" to the compressed length. Adding two hockey pucks works perfectly for the Bilstein 33-185552s at 16"-26". So long as your shocks are close to these measurements you're golden. Firmer valving will help in the bouncing a steel bumper might cause over larger bumps but the springs will sag no matter what from the added weight.

According to the mechanic that installed my OME kit, the OME shocks are Bilstein manufactured shocks. He was very impressed with, as he said, the very HIGH quality of all the components and how they worked together and complemented each other. He was also impressed with the fact that when it was done, all 4 corners were the exact same height, which he said in all his lift installations, he had never seen that happen. That was his first OME installation, but said it will not be his last.

Not sure about Bilstein making OME, OME is ARB. Could be possible, but I just don't know. Did you go to 3.5" or did you just run OME springs with Bilstein shocks. Forgive me if you said somewhere and I just missed it.

I went with the regular OME 1½" lift, which actually gave the Liberty a 2½" lift overall. It does ride a little stiffer, but that was to be expected.

Who manufactures the shocks for OME? My research tells me there are only 3 shock manufacturers in the US and the mechanic, said that after looking at the shock, it was a Bilstien shock. I am curious now as to who does manufacture the shock.

OME does not manufacture anything in the US, ( its an Australian Company owned by ARB ) used to be all done in Australia but now China as well
So no you won't find them manufactured in the US same as Ironman made in Australia
