I am in the middle of "fix the been counter engineering" operation with my libby. I ordered water pump front half among other things from idparts.com. The water pump half came with a gasket (big o-ring) and a small o-ring. I figured that the big o-ring or gasket goes in the recess on the water pump half perimeter to form a seal between two halves. But I can't figure out where the smaller o-ring go? You can see both o-rings in the idparts product page. Does anyone have an adea?

Part page FYI: http://www.idparts.com/water-pump-brass ... -3612.html

I believe the smaller O-ring is the block seal for the back half if (for some reason) you remove the whole thing from the engine bay. I never use it.

Yep, see 06 Parts Figure 7-230 PN 05159019AA pump to block "O" ring. If you don't have parts fiche and FSMs get copies from http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/

Parts manuals are often better than FSMs at showing how things go together.

The FSM helps those who help themselves.

Fair comment! I went through FSM but not the parts manual. I will refer both next time.
