I believe its called an air flow gauge. its the little air flow indicator on the side of the air cleaner housing that comes from the factory on cummings and power stroke diesels. I would like to put one of these on my CRD but don't know if one from one of the larger diesels would work right. just curious if anyone has installed one on their jeep and if so, which one did you use and how well is it working for you. thought this might be a cool, inexpensive project.

It can be done but based on having one on my 05 and one on stoutdog's 06 I would not waste the time or money. Both ours are in the change filter range almost immediately and I see now way to "calibrate" them for our smaller engine. In fact when I had to replace my air box cover (note to forum be sure air box to turbo hose is touching MAF sensor before tightening clamp lest you crush the edge of the hose outlet fitting) I did not bother replacing the filter minder.

I installed a filter minder on my CRD last year! It was very easy to install, ordered it off ebay....
They come in different negative pressure ranges for different engines, big to small diesels..
Simply drilled a hole in backside of airbox slightly smaller than the vinyl tubing and worked the tube into it for a very tight fit...
Basically the same setup that came on my Dodge Cummins!
