Hey Guys,

Does anyone have a good recommendation or shop to send CRD injectors to be inspected and repaired? I'm concerned now I screwed something up on my injectors when I was replacing the cooper washers but I don't know a good place to get them inspected and repaired, I haven't been able to find anything local to me here in Greensboro NC area. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Thanks
Grant

What leads you to believe you damaged them?

I forgot that I had cleaned inject #1 and #4 with my bench grinder, and now thinking back on it, I have to wonder if I screwed up the nozzles on the tips. Also before I did that the Liberty was running perfectly, and well now its not.

Yep if you hit the injector tips with any sort of aggressive grinding/wire brushing they are almost certainly shot. My guess is not repairable either but....

Well that answers that question, I found a place in Greensboro that is Bosch certified so I'm having them tested tomorrow and should know . . . this was an expensive mistake on my part . . .

now you learned not to do it again , I'm sure all of us did something wrong while working its learning curve , good thing you sent injectors for testing because bad nozzle pattern can cook pistons or washed cylinder liners causing even more trouble

Next time google injector cleaning but as rankom notes we have all done something very wrong headed that contributed to our learning curve but I'll keep mine a secret for now.

FYI idparts has reman/rebuilt injectors so depending on how things go you might want to check their prices and just a reminder you will need new crush washers and "O"rings again but at least they are relatively cheap.

Yeah this was not a fun lesson to learn. I have already ordered new o-rings and new crush washers as well, I knew that was going to be needed. I'm waiting for my 12 gauge cleaning kit to come in from amazon so I clean out the injector bores better. I just want to get my Liberty back on the road and put this whole experience behind me . . .

Ouch, that's got to hurt!

If you're not in a hurry you can get the injectors shipped from the UK for a fraction of the cost

Sounds like that you got the short end of the stick in the divorce. Giving her ANY jeep would've been poetic justice!

Is it confirmed that there is no difference between the US and Euro versions, and this will work right?

How the bloody <expletative> did you lose all 4 at once??

I wrote them, and have not heard back yet. Will advise when I do.

I can have 4 available to sell you, $450 each. American spec (since there may be a question about that) and working pulls. No need to reman or do anything else to them, just install a fresh crush washer and o-ring and put them in. Send me a PM if you are interested, and I can get them shipped out tomorrow or Thursday. You'd have them on Friday most likely as they are coming from Savannah.

I would also advise against bringing anything more violent than a paper towel near the injector tips - this is good advice for anyone.
