Due to some ongoing confusion, this, for your consideration:

This is the Vacuum Reservoir Solenoid or Vacuum Control Solenoid for the Vacuum Reservoir
- strictly on-off operation, no regulation
- key-on connects the vacuum pump to the reservoir
- key-off disconnects the vacuum pump port, blocks the port to the reservoir to maintain vacuum after shutdown
- make sure you plumb the hoses correctly, as you found them - incorrect connection will dump vacuum reservoir at key-off
- actual size smaller than pictured
- DCJ Part Number: 4606226AC

- NOTE: this is the solenoid as suggested for bypass test by GDE

That is NOT the Boost Pressure Solenoid, or Boost Control Solenoid, which is the larger of the two on the right fender, is mounted in front of the VRS, and which has the clear in-line fuel filter dangling below, used to filter the vent for the Vane Control Actuator
- BPS is a Pulse-Width-Modulated vacuum regulator valve
- connected to the vacuum reservoir, controls varying levels of vacuum to the VCA mounted to the turbo compressor housing
- hard plastic line to the VCA

Posted for your comparative enjoyment, THIS is the Boost Pressure Solenoid or Boost Control Solenoid
DCJ Part Number: 52109543AA
BOSCH Part Number: 0005450527
Dangling air filter configuration specific to a 'nuther product line
Actual size larger than pictured

Thanks gmctd,

Any chance you also know the part numbers for the attached vacuum lines/hoses?

I'm trying to track down a replacement for all the vacuum lines/tubes/hoses connected to the Solenoids that route to the turbo.

Appreciate any information you have.

Thanks again.

Sarma

PNs for those lines probably doesn't matter as I strongly suspect a good parts store like NAPA has suitable replacements in stock to cut to length

I don't have a lot of experience in replacing the hard-line or rigid tubing/hoses for our vacuum systems in the Jeep, and so I was wondering if those would need to be replaced by a certain OEM or aftermarket version / part-numbered item. I figured that the flexible rubber hoses and lines could be custom cut and fit with generic auto hoses.

I am trying to replace these:

or

If anyone has any other recommendations about fool-proofing the vacuum lines to insure they aren't leaking (and possibly causing my P0234).

Still working on that problem (http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83543).

Thanks.

Sarma.

If you can slide heat shrink with the glue in it over the hard vac line, it will seal any suspected leaks.
