Fia makes a summer/winter front set that snaps on the front of the grille. I have this one. got it after the last few cold winters here in Pennsylvania, but of course this winter has been warm so far so I have only been using the bug screen.

Very Nice!! This is a lot like the ones you can buy from Cloud Rider Designs. The Cloud Rider units are made of sheet stainless steel, and have a rubber edging all around each piece. Did you make one for the air dam underneath?

Thanks. Never came across the cloud riders when I was looking so just made my own out of some old, never used, aluminum mudflaps I had around.

I've not made a lower cover yet. However, I have some scrap stainless baseboard laying around and an idea for a 3 piece unit with 2 fixed on the outside and a sliding middle section.

What I have definitely helps, but I'd like to see if being able to control the lower section is significantly better. Guess I should just use some scrap cardboard for a bit to see if it behaves much different.

You might want to either cut some small holes in the existing grill inserts you have made, or forego the covering of the air dam underneath the bumper. I understand that this is to relieve negative pressure on the mechanical cooling fan, and prevent premature wear on it. I do know that even the Cloud rider winter fronts have a minimal amount of air slots cut into them to relieve the negative pressure put on the fan.

Mechanical fan? What's that?

Haven't run it in coming on two years with no ill effect.

But yes, I get the reasoning behind that; thus my thought to make a lower cover that was adjustable without tools.
