Having an issue downloading the software for the flash tool. It keeps getting flagged for a virus. Any ideas?

Try using google chrome as web browser. It allowed me to download. I had the same problem earlier this week.

Never mind. I had turned off one antivirus program didn't realize there was another one running as well.

I am also having a issue with the flash tool itself. On the screen where you pick "jeep" the red forward arrow does nothing. So I cant get past that screen.

The touch screen doesn't seem to work that well. I wouldn't give up yet. Just keep pecking at it and it should work eventually. Or back out and try again maybe.

I figured out how to calibrate the touch screen. On the first screen press the setup button. Once in setup press the calibrate button.

Running more than one anti virus program at a time is not a good idea.

One of them is the one that is part of windows or IE? Any way got the jeep reprogramed. Taking a 300 mile trip this week cant wait to see if my fuel economy has changed.

There is no anti virus software that is part of Windows or IE that I am aware of. The closest thing to that is Microsoft Security Essentials but you usually have to actively install it (e.g. I don't think it comes pre-installed on any PC). I will note though that if you purchased a pre-built PC (Dell, HP, whatever) that it probably came pre-installed with a bunch of crap ware that likely includes "trial" versions of anti-virus software; typically Norton (junk in my opinion) and McAfee. I'd strongly recommend going into Control Panel/Programs and Features and deleting as much of that extraneous stuff as you can.

Bottom line is you should only have one anti virus software program running at a time (translation you can have more than one installed but you cannot have more than one active at any given time) as they inevitably conflict are start finding virus infections in perfectly safe stuff.

What should you run. I have opinions but suggest you check like cnet for recommendations of both free and not free anti virus options.

The worst part of the diy tuning process was having to install a Windows VM on my Linux based laptop just to run that super sketchy MPPS software. First world problems.

Its been awhile since I installed this but I thought id give an update. The jeep definitely has more pep. I am getting 27.5 miles per gallon on the highway. And that is in the mountains of PA. Im very pleased with the results.
