I'm sure Nissan will build the Frontier with the 2.8 Cummins but whether they will sell it in the US is another question. If they do I'm interested. Now if the idiots at Ford would just sell the nice little Aussie Ford Ranger with the diesel here in the US I'd be interested in that also.

Ford seems to be testing the F150 with range Rover turbo diesel in it.

Do not forget the New Nissan Titans equipped with the V8 Cummins Diesel motors that are now available at most dealerships, we have three of them on the lot right now...have already sold a couple....
Price starts at ~40K

Our local dealership has three on the lot and prices range from 62-69k. They haven't sold any yet at that price............you can buy a 2500 Ram Laramie Longhorn for around 58k. I feel as though the Titan will not be successful here. Now if Nissan builds the Frontier with a 2.8 Cummins I'm pretty sure they'll have a winner.

62-69k  I've purchased houses for less!

They will have some rebates for sure. But how many crds and parts for life you can get with that money? Lol.

I have to admit, I was thoroughly unimpressed with the price tag. Can't blame them for trying I guess.

Like I said, 3/4ton diesel prices at 1/2 capabilities. Hardly the game changing truck they intended it to be.

Honestly, a 3/4 ton with a diesel is not much of a step up from a 1/2 ton in terms of payload so its not like there was a huge gap that needed to be filled anyways.

Actually, 1500 ram shows 1880 payload while the 2500 shows 3610. This is directly from Ram's website. The numbers are nearly double.

The gas 3/4 ton no option regular cab might be that high but the diesels are almost 1000 lbs less.

A 2500 crew short bed with the diesel is only 2380 lbs. Supercrew F150s are 1800lbs+.

I wonder how the Titan XD will feel to drive it though. I was watching something about it and they were mentioning you get better towing capacities than a 1/2 ton without the rough ride of a 3/4 ton? I haven't owned any 3/4 ton truck since my 1998.5 Dodge Cummins and that definitely was a rough riding truck when it wasn't loaded down which mine hardly ever was. I didn't need a 3/4 ton truck, but I wanted a Diesel. I remember carrying 2 full size motorcycles in the bed and a 3rd out on a hitch hauler out to CO one year and I was like wow, this is the best this truck has ever ridden.

I am curious about the Colorado/Canyon for sure. I have no need for a 3/4 ton truck, but one of those might fit the bill. I probably wouldn't go after the Titan either, but I'm glad to see more options out there.

The most comfortable truck is ram 1500. Watch tfl truck channel on YouTube for more details about titan.
