It does get addicting! But hey, my wife says she would rather support the Jeep hobby than some other addictions a guy could have. Plus she likes to wheel too.

I would suggest your first mod should be a set of skid plates. I'm seeing a lot of expensive unprotected underbody components in your awesome photos there... After putting in a cabin air filter to control pollen and dust, the very next mod I did was skid plates. I have never regretted spending that $500, and here have been at least two times they have more than paid for themselves (one off-road, the other on-road).

I think the BLD (brake lock differential system) is noisy but works pretty well. The KK has never left me stuck.

I was going to ask if you are stock. I have pretty much the same setup. Radiator, Front Suspension, Transmission, and Transfer Case skids. Plus ATH Front Shackle mounts. What kind of tires are they? Any rubbing?

Firestone destination mud tires, load range e. I think max pressure is 80 psi, lol. It does rub under some offroading but it barely rubs the plastic liner. At least it doesnt rub enough to hurt anything. Any taller or wider it would be worse. I do need a small lift but dont have the money for one.

I love this. With regular oil changes and maintenance, the KK can last a really long time. I have high hopes for mine! 126,000 and counting...

It's a beautiful sunny Saturday here in the Mid-Atlantic. Is anyone out working on the Jeep today? It would be a great day for it. I'm hoping to take advantage of part of the afternoon to work on my camping trailer build.

Bolted up the new ATH roof rack. He noted in the directions to not rhino line it, or not recommended, however I rhino line everything I get my hands on so I did it anyway. Turned out great. This rack is solid :D The quality of this rack is second to none, and it looks and functions like it should.

Also to add I could probably have gotten more out of the tranny, had I done more regular fluid changes. But she's still on the road today and I wouldn't trade her in for any other vehicle

Went out today, did good on a ridge, barely missed hitting the dirt with the frame. Tires did well again.

Did the 08's come with the lifetime warranty? That's one of the reasons I'm sticking to my 09. I did just have the tranny pan replaced (rusted and was leaking at the seams. While they were at it, the rubber boot on the back side of the front drive shaft was cracked so got a new drive shaft out of the deal. Didn't cost me nothing more then leaving the Jeep @ the dealer for the week. It just rolled over 100k. In the shop as I type this getting the radiator replaced. It just started leaking this weekend and as per the stealership, it's loosing pressure and tech see's "fluid" seeping around the lower left seam. I thought it was something else since the fluid smelled just like hydro fluid, was red and greasy/oily. They report no tranny fluid leaks detected. Doesn't matter. Not under warranty anyway. What is it with Liberties. My 02 got a leak at 100k also. But it's leak was on the top corner.

Thought I would add a avitar and full size pick. That front bumper is from T Morgan (At the Helm).. Couldn't find my pic with the winch and my new LED lights.

Image

Some shots of after I got the lift installed. The red jeep WAS my daughter's for 6 years (complements of your's truely) but she's now in a 2016 Buick Encore and I got the 02 Limited back. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. Don't need 2 jeeps (still have a minivan and Passat TDi). Has 149k miles on it and I'm the 2nd owner. Been a typical Jeep. Might just end up keeping it around for an "extra". The 02 has NO mods. My KK just got it's OME lift (1.5inches but I gained 3). 10.3 between bottom of front skid to ground

It did come with a lifetime powertrain but when I asked them about it, they said I had missed a 5 year checkup, so warranty no more. I doubt I'll ever go back to any jeep dealership after their actions through the whole ordeal

Beautiful looking jeep by the way

Do the 09 Libertys have a lifetime warranty? If so, that would be nice.

Lifetime Powertrain/Engine and that includes the tranny. Anything not bolted on or inside (with some exclusions) is covered and you have to be the orig owner. It's the ONLY thing that's keeping mine in the driveway. And like you, it might just be my last Jeep. No use for a wrangler as a everyday driver and sorry, compass/patriot/Cherokee wouldn't be my first choice if I wanted something to drive on gravel roads. :goink:

Gasoline Engine: cylinder block and all internal parts; cylinder head assemblies; timing case, timing chain, timing belt, gears and sprockets; vibration damper; oil pump; water pump and housing; intake and exhaust manifolds; flywheel with starter ring gear; core plugs; valve covers; oil pan; turbocharger housing and internal parts; turbocharger wastegate actuator; supercharger; serpentine belt tensioner; seals and gaskets for listed components only.

Transmission: transmission case and all internal parts; torque converter; drive/flex plate; transmission
range switch; speed sensors; pressure sensors; transmission control module; bell housing; oil pan; seals and gaskets for listed components only. NOTE: MANUAL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PARTS ARE NOT COVERED AT ANY TIME.

Front Wheel Drive: transaxle case and all internal parts; axle shaft assemblies; constant velocity joints and boots; differential cover; oil pan; transaxle speed sensors; transaxle solenoid assembly; PRNDL position switch; transaxle electronic controller; torque converter; seals and gaskets for listed components only.
NOTE: MANUAL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PARTS ARE NOT COVERED AT ANY TIME.

Thanks. The red one has decided that 150k miles is time to replace the water pump. Noted a "wet" spot under it at lunch time. Not much but enough to notice. Visual inspection of the wet source points to the seep hole in the top of the pump. Local shop (non dealer) said about 280.00 to fix (that includes a good flush), new freeze and pump. 09 is in the shop getting it's 100k mile radiator replacement and transcooler replacement (that's why I went in the first place but also suspected the radiator seam was leaking a little). 650.00 for all that and they are cutting me a break on labor and other a few other things. That's at the dealership. :grim:

Well, Im out of luck, lol. Im not the original owner. Kind of good news though, can mid it all I want(afford more like it) without worrying about voiding a warranty.
