For all 2008-2012 KKs. [*]
This article is regarding Torque Pro and Scangauge 4.22.5/2/2016- checking on accurate equation for Torque Pro as temperatures are inaccurate.
yep, you read right, transmission temp readings are possible, and actually have been since the JK came off the line back in 06. the pid number is the same on the 06 JKs as it is on the KKs... go figure right.
thanks to
NAMoulton1 for posting over on Facebook a few weeks back.
first off download the paid version of Torque Pro. the readings will ONLY work with the paid version (verified).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=enapple IOS has not been confirmed, but with testing DashCommand should work well (not-verified).
before anything else make sure to set up your vehicle profile or the next few steps for a few select KKs will not work.
next on the main screen hit the settings icon at the bottom and select "settings".
scroll down untill you see "manage extra PIDs/Sensors".
at the top there is 3 dots, tap them and select "ADD Custom PID".
add information as follows and only as follows:
OBD2 mode and PID: 22b010
Long name: TransTemp. (what ever you want to name the gauge really)
Short Name: TransTemp. (what ever you want to name the gauge really)
Unit Type: C
Equation: Atap ok. testing will not work (or show any data) untill future steps.
agian, tap the 3 dots to add another profile (PID).
add information as follows and only as follows:
OBD2 mode and PID: 3e01
Long name: Wakeup.
Short Name: Wakeup.
Equation: A
OBD Header: 7DF (some KKs may need to use 7E0 if future steps do not work)tap ok. testing may not work (or show any data) untill future steps.
now go back to the main page and select your vehicle profile.
"EDIT".
select "show advanced settings"
scroll down until you see in white lettering "Use Alternate OBD Header". All 2011 and 2012 KKs need to enable this to work. 2008-2010 KKs might as well enable this.
in the realtime info screen add a display and add "wakeup" as that gauge. (wake up can be hidden behind any gauge).
do the same with the "transtemp" gauge.
any style of gauge will work.
good luck with trans temps now!
BTW, your fluid should be around ambient temperature before the jeep is cranked over first thing in the morning. readings are accurate in all gears regardless of refresh rate pull on the app.
Post your temps good and bad below!First thing in the morning:
City Driving W/O trans fan:
Trans temp with trans fan on in same exact conditions:
Highway was the same as trans fan on.
