I've only had the KK for a little over a month and half and today while looking for a suitable way to route some wire for my trailer harness I see what appears to be a black plastic bag just peeking it's way from the driver's side front lower trim....just behind the front wheel. It appears to have water and some other material in it. I stuffed it back up inside the trim and it looks like it has a small puncture as water dripped from it. What the hell is this thing?

I believe it's some kind of sound dampening material. There is some foam inside the black bag. I pulled mine when it was hanging from the drivers side about 150k miles ago. Haven't noticed a single difference

I think it keeps the plastic fenderwell from flapping in the breeze.

Doing a full undercarriage cleaning a few months ago and I saw the same thing peaking out... Pulled it out and haven't noticed a lick of difference since.

They put those there to help dampen road noise from the tires among other things. Turns out they don't make a difference when your running more aggressive tires
