I did sort of figure out a pseudo work around for the lights, at least for at night. I usually don't leave my lights in auto mode but if left in auto they will come on at night. It's kind of a a no brainer but I figured I would share just in case there were any others that don't leave their lights on auto also.

I came across this too if someone is really motivated.

As I remember there was some different wiring for different models of Jeeps. It's possible yellow to yellow may not be the right wires for a Grand. Do you have the instruction manual with it?

Looking at this manual (and it is not easy to understand), my 08 KK is wiring diagram C but your 06 Grand is wiring diagram F. I'm assuming you want the one for the stand alone installation, which is what I got. Also, the unit had to be flashed for your model of Jeep before the seller sent it to you, or it may not work without buying the programmer. Hope this helps.

That's frustrating for sure. Sounds like you have the right firmware settings with D1. I'd go back to the wiring diagram (letter F) and make sure each wire is connected to the right place. If the wires are correct, make sure you also get the programming sequence right (with the remote lock button and then blue lights on the Evo), so it learns your system and knows when to turn on. If that didn't take the first time, you can unplug everything, plug it back in, and try again. Good luck!

It's been a few years. Have these held up okay?

I did my 08 a couple years ago with the Fortin unit; relatively easy to install and works great.

I installed one of these in my 2012 KK last week. Works good but one of the features I read about is that if you hit Lock 3 times on the key fob while in the ignition and running you should be able to remove the key and keep the car running. However, my keyfob seems to not work when in the ignition so I can't use this feature (which is one I'd really like to have since I am in and out of my car frequently for a couple minutes at a time).

Has anybody gotten this feature to work?

Just installed one in my 2010 KK works great. Pretty easy install the hardest part was routing the wires and that still wasn't too hard. Remember to get it programmed by the seller and your good. I used the same wiring scheme as the original post. Yellow to Yellow and Purple to Red/Green. If you don't route the wiring correct it will bind up the lock cylinder like someone above mentioned. It took me a minute to realize that is what I had done when the jeep was still beeping when I took the key out and found the cylinder was still depressed. I mounted mine closer to the door behind the pull out drawer.

Just curious if I may have did something wrong but I am also having an issue with my lock cylinder staying stuck because when I take the key out it will sometimes beep. I have the purple connected to the green with red tracer. Is that the correct wire because the only red wire is red with a blue tracer.

The issue of the lock cylinder remaining depressed doesn’t have to do with the wiring connections. It’s about where you run the wires. If they’re too scrunched up against the key cylinder mechanism, it can’t move in and out easily and that’s what causes the problem.

Ah thank you. I think I found the issue last night anyways. The trim bezel that goes around the column is and around the lock cylinder isn't aligned properly and the bezel is keeping the lock cylinder from popping back out. Sometimes I have a bad habit of overlooking the simple things and going straight to more in depth comes issues.
