Bilstein is good.
KYB sucks.
I'm currently using Gabriel up front and am pleased.

I have 2 of the lower front bolts that are welded/rusted tight in place. I am using a long 24" breaker.

I don't have an impact wrench and an air compressor, but I will get them if it's the only way.

How did you all remove the frozen bolts to get at the struts?

A 50/50 mix of acetone and atf has worked better for me than any commercial penetrant. Heat is always your friend as well.

Man it's cold out, wish I had started this job in the summer when it was warm out, probably be done by now.

The MF is is stuck on good and dealing with frozen finger tips is not fun. Going to Harbor Freight to pick up a high quality impact wrench : ).

Either the wrench breaks or something else.

Everything goes worse in the cold. For things that need to be warmed up, I have had my best luck squirting Sea Foam on after the nut is heated.

For future it is a good idea to start oiling things up daily for a period of time before you commence. I oil things up every time I get around a vehicle.

Be careful of the products you use and whaT YOU GET THEM ON. I got the wrong kind of brake clean on a wire loom and watched the wire lom shrivel up before my eyes

Done.. next time I'll have a professional do the job.

I like to work on my own stuff but not in the cold.

Yea it's not exactly warm in CT right now. Impacts are your friend! Nothing like feeling that nut start turning with a breaker bar only to realize your just sheared the bolt :furious:
