I'm looking for steel wheels, preferably the black Cragar soft 8's. I'm running BFG 245x75 R16's which I love. Tire Rack says to mount them on a 7" rim ideally.

Since I cannot find a black steel wheel in our 16x7" with 5.5" of backspacing, I'm reaching out to my fellow LOST'ers to see if anyone is running the same tire and wheel combo I'm looking at.

I can't believe that a 16x8 with 5" BS, or a 16x7 with 4" BS won't push the tire to rub A LOT on the fender flares, especially in the rear when stuffed.

So please IF YOU HAVE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE, please post pics and facts.

I get very little rubbing now and don't want to increase that.

PS Anyone want a used set of Renegade rims with some scratches?

Well you can check the "black rims" topic of this section for pics of my KJ and the 16"x8"x5" American Eagle Wheels. They are great I think but since I'm running a 255/70/R16 BFG M-T they rub a lot, or rather did before I trimmed away a lot behind the back of the front bumper. As for the rub that happens when stuffed I haven't actually had a problem. I have bump stops on the rear shocks and, maybe because I haven't leaned to hard on one side yet, haven't heard any rubbing or popping of fender flares yet. As for the front I haven't had an issue yet, but haven't had the KJ stuffed all that well just yet, I have a 5-7" gap from the top of the tire to the top of the wheel well and haven't been on anything that has made it rub the top of the wheel well just yet. But if you have an ARB front bumper there should be no worries I would think, and then of course there is the pinch weld cover you might (or already have) pounded out. I know that mine is gone.

I'm running american racing streetlocks(16"x8" w/3.75" backspacing) with 265/75R16's MT/R's,they do rub at full lock in the front and full stuff in the rear.Soon I'll be switching to 255/70R16's MT/R's.[img][/img][img][/img]

Your 245/75 are about 31", so you should have no problem with any of the rims (you have at least a 2" lift, right?). I'd recommend a 0 offset wheel, to move it out and improve your track width.

I have 33 x 10 Trxus MT on steel 16x7 rims, with 0 offset (4" bs), which widens my track by 4" over stock. With my 2 1/2" lift, I got a little rubbing at the back, before I put in my air bags ('02 - pre lowered). I also trimmed about 1/4" off the plastic at the back doors.

I also have a pair of 33 x 12 boggers, which I put on the back at the trailhead, on 16 x 8 rims, with 5" backspacing (+ 1/2" offset), which of couse widen the track by 1" from the 33 10s (or 5" from stock). They're also fine on the back (unless my airbags fail!).

Pix are at: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/577778
The one of the boggers on a ramp, are flexed up about 7".
(i.e. on an 11" ramp, and a 30" tire on the other side, so (11 + (33 - 30) / 2) = 7")
