Replaced the power mirror control switch and problem of iffy sometime operation cured.
Mirrors now work every time button is depressed on both sides.
Only took about ten minutes to change switch, very simple!

Nice find. Had to do the same several years ago the day before a 1,350 mile drive. Fortunately my local DCJ dealer had one in stock for like $45 and like you say install was quick and easy.

Power Mirror Switch Fix.. replace the faulty surface mount component.

Power mirror switch is easily repaired if you can use a soldering iron, I took mine apart carefully not to break any of the clips , there are 4 surface mount components on the board that is all not over complex at all, 3 of them are black with 000 written on top they are just 0 ohm bridges and dont do anything, so ignore them the other one is coffee color with LF075 written on the top this is a 0.75A resetable fuse that fails , a good one measures 3.2 ohms and a bad one well could measure anything but my faulty one measured almost 35ohms , basically this is the current limiter which is why the mirror may move a little but not much as it wont have enough amps with a the higher value, simply remove the component and replace with a new one and the job is done, just saved you a $150 for a new switch with a $1 surface mount component .
