I have not pulled a trailer with my Liberty yet. I re-wired a trailer and used led brake lights. I got a 7 way to 4 pin adapter. I wired it up and I get tail lights, brake lights and right turn signal but no left turn signal. I hooked it up to my work truck and everything works. Is it a special plug for Jeep or is something else going on?

That sounds like a problem on the Jeep side, not with the trailer. I had an issue with mine the first time I tried to tow something, and it turned out I had a loose ground at the wiring harness. Reattach wire and good to go. A multimeter is your friend when trying to track down issues like this. The wiring harness for your tow lights should be located or accessible beneath the tire jack in the compartment on the left side of your trunk.

I agree. I was wondering if it is a standard pinout or is it special to Jeep?

This site sells the Mopar wiring harness and has a link to the PDF installation instructions. There are some decent diagrams in there that should get you started.

https://www.jeepworld.com/collections/liberty-trailer-hitches/products/mopar-7-way-trailer-wiring-harness-and-4-way-adapter-82212196ab

If your Jeep has an aftermarket harness, you’ll need to google the installation instructions for whatever brand it is.

That will help. I figure it’s a ground issue. Everything works except drivers turn signal. That should get me on track. Thanks.

Does not sound like a ground issue. Ground problems will usually show up as a cross-over back-feed to another light. I.E. R turn will cause a dull ghost flash on the other side/lights.

Just so we are on the same page, I'm talking about the US 7 way plug not the Euro plug.
L turn and L brake light use the same wire out of the 7 way.
Looking into the 7 way from the rear of the rig (lift the cover) the tab at 9 O-clock position is L turn and brake.
The tab below it, at about 7 O-clock position is ground.

7 way trailer wiring colors, Plug side, looking into the plug under the cover.
.....Running lights./ ........... \ Pos (+)
Left turn & brake |......( ).....| Right turn and brake
..............Neg (-) \............ / Trailer brakes
....................Backup ↑↑ Light

The wire Colors are as above, except the Neg is white.

I would trace the L turn signal wire from the 7 way harness, to where it connects to the rig. Using a test light verify you have L turn on that wire coming from the rig side.
If that wire is working, then (if after market) odds the converter is bad.
If factory installed trailer harness, then pull the LR quarter panel and check the relay. There should be 3 relays located close together near the bottom of the hatch opening, L turn, R turn, and brake, it should be the center one.

I just got back home Monday and looked at it good Tuesday. It was 2 relays. That part works ok now. I have to look at the trailer led lights now. With the lights on both sides start flashing but not with them off. Thanks everyone for the help. It’s nice to have a place where people are helpful. With my ford I was pretty much on my own.

Trailer lights are working as they are supposed to. I had the plug grounded to the tongue and the light guys grounded to the trailer. The problem is that it was not making a good ground with it being a tilt bed. I ran the grounds all the way to the plug and problem solved. Again; thanks everyone for the help.
