Rockauto pulled up this thermostat as a replacement. Has anybody used this stat? Any issues? Temp a little higher than stock.

Who knows and it doesn't matter as RockAuto lists it as out of stock. Picture looks like it's correct and if it was in stock and really a Stant it would be ok; if Crown it would not be ok.

With all those mods you have on your rig it may be time for a HDS. Not cheap but I run a 193F stat and my computer reads between 187 and 193, dead in the middle of the gauge. Warms up extremely well, I've never been able to get it past 1/2 gauge reading. My rig was so cold blooded it was terrible in the winter. No affiliation with HDS just a really happy owner.

I called Stant headquarters in Indiana, the PN STANT 50388 list by Rock Auto is a good number and available through a dealer by ordering it.

Autozone and NAPA both list a replacement thermostat/housings for the Jeep Liberty diesel. Autozone Part Number: 94376 / NAPA THM HT176349
No way of knowing who provides them with the parts although I suspect it is probably made by Dorman.
If it is a Crown part, don't waste your money, they are crap.

I'm currently running the stant 50388 in my wife's crd with good results. I believe the 188 degrees to be correct. The thermostat is not made by stant. They buy and rebox however it isnt crown or omixada that's what the stant rep told me.

As per WWDiesel, I also vote for the HDS 001 with changeable thermostats (I'm running a 203 Stant). IMHO it's worth every penny. "Buy once, cry once."

Would like HDS but short on money at the moment. Only had Jeep back up and running for a few months and now timing belt is broken. Hoping there are no big issues as it was just rebuilt by a shop that literally took over 3 years to do the job. Worst customer service experience ever. Rockauto had 2 in stock low and behold after I make this post one disappeared so i ordered the last one immediately. $80 delivered a lot more attractive to me than $500 right now.

Unfortunately broke timing belt = broken rockers which will require the pulling of the intake/cams cover. :(

Because of the way it happened im hoping thats not the case. Jeep died while at stoplight and was throwing camshaft sensor code but would still try to turn and start. My hope is that it was just a bad tnsioner at first and belt broke on a crank attempt.

I wish you all the best in luck, but you would be the first to report a timing belt breaking while engine was running with no damage to rockers. :ALONE:
Three tooths off will allow pistons to contact valves and therefore damage rockers.
Keep us posted as to what you find. Very curious...

2 broken rockers valves are fine. Went ahead and replaced all rockers. Now just a sticky injector so running some Hot Shot Stiction Eliminator.

Some also add Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel tank to add additional lubricity to the diesel fuel. Good Stuff!
I also add some cheap non-synthetic 2 cycle oil as well to the fuel at each fillup.
These two items together in the fuel ensures all the highly precision and close tolerance parts in the CP3 and injectors are well lubricated especially since today's ultra low sulfur diesel fuel does not do a very good job of keeping things well lubricated....

Be careful ordering parts for the liberty cord from rock auto. I tried to use them but they sent me part for the gas one and had no idea what was wrong. Was a nightmare to explain why the the parts didn't work for me and exchange them.

Actually, the people who design internal combustion engines have known for years that the hotter you can SAFELY run an internal combustion engine, the more powerful and fuel efficient it is capable of being.

This is why the Hot Diesel Solutions Model 001 is larger and uses a significantly larger thermostat valve than the O.E. thermostat assembly and all of the O.E copies. It allows you to use a hotter 203 degree valve, and will allow more flow of engine coolant in high ambient temperature and high demand situations.
