My CRD's tranny (auto, 2006) just failed, mechanic says its shot, time for a new one. What are my options? Worth having a tranny shop look at it? Look for someone to rebuild? Upgrade options? I've often dreamed of a manual tranny...This thing may be the death of me...
Errors:
P0733 Gear 3 incorrect ratio
P0700 TCS (MIL request)
P0732Gear 2 incorrect ratio
P0876 UD Pressure switch rationality
P0871 OD pressure switch rationality

One other option rather than rebuilding is getting a good used Hemi Dodge truck transmission as reported by some on this forum who have installed one.
May have to upgrade the torque converter as the Hemi gasser stall speed is higher than a diesel.
You can search on LOST for previous posts about a Hemi transmission as there is a certain year range to look for that is compatible with our Jeep CRDs...
Plug this into your browser's search bar:> "hemi transmission" site:www.lostjeeps.com/forum/

Thanks WW, I found a 2015 65RFE with 15k on it for $895. Do you know if its a straight swap, other than the TC upgrade?

I'am no expert when it comes to transmissions, I rely on my good friend who owns a transmission repair shop.
But I do remember some saying the solenoid pack (internal) for the later transmissions is not compatible with the earlier model Jeeps.
So if you get a later model transmission, you may have to swap out the solenoid pack with your older one. I believe they are different colors and are identified by their color.
Hopefully there are some experts on here who can chime in and guide you as to years compatibility. :juggle:
