If you would like to remove and eliminate your worn out or leaking Viscous Heater and / or plumbing, or you just want to get rid of the VH?
I have developed a viscous heater elimination kit using strong and lightweight billet aluminum bar stock, a Gates idler pulley, and a grade 8 mounting bolt.
Direct bolt on replacement for the viscous heater, uses original VH mounting bolts and reuses stock serpentine belt. No other parts required!
Heater hose rerouting & modification is covered in written install procedures which comes with kit.
I have tested it on my personal vehicle now for a couple of months and it functions perfectly with no issues.

How is the Model 001 thermostat working for you, and did you have any fitment issues mounting it to the engine OR to your viscous heater delete kit?

No fitment issues with the thermostat or the viscous heater delete bracket & pulley. The temperature gauge does seem to rise to a little higher value than it did with the factory thermostat. Now settles out a little bit above 12:00 (straight up)

The VH delete bracket & pulley is a direct replacement for the OEM viscous heater and bolts right in using original bolts in place of the factory VH unit. High quality Gates pulley and reuses the stock serpentine belt. Rerouting of the heater hose to bypass the viscous heater is super simple.
May or may not be a great mod for you in Canada or very cold climates, simply not sure how much heat it actually adds to the heater core since I have had the relay on mine pulled for several years. But in hot climates, it is a worthless item not needed and only adds picritic drag to the engine and is another place for a possible bearing failure and / or coolant leak potential. But money wise, deleting the viscous heater with my kit is less than 1/4 the cost of purchasing a new viscous heater ($423.20 at IDParts).

And if anyone wants the perfectly good viscous heater that I removed from my engine, it is for sale cheap. I never plan to reinstall it!

I just want to give a little feedback for anyone on the fence. These kits come with top notch instructions, so anyone should be able to install it confidently. It is very easy to install, it took me about 40min start to finish, with most of that time struggling with the drive belt tensioner because all I had at the time was a 3.8" ratchet. I cannot comment on mpg gains or if it takes longer to warm up yet because I just installed the kit and it is summer. I will comment back as I have more feedback. Again this is a great kit, with some of the best installation instructions I have ever seen, and the customer service was second to none.

FYI:
I have sold out of all current stock of Viscous Heater Elimination Kits. Thank you to all purchasers who ordered kits!
Unfortunately due to recent increases in prices for materials, pulley's, bushings, and shipping costs, I am being forced to increase the purchase price of the Viscous Heater Delete Kits.
Very sorry for this price increase, but it is due to current circumstances beyond my control.
Concurrent with my last order of materials and parts, everything has incurred an increase in price including postage.
Price increase will be an additional $25.00 US.

I should have some new Viscous Heater Elimination assemblies built and ready for shipment in 2-3 weeks if anyone wants to eliminate their Viscous Heater.
Please email or message me if interested.

I like this new VH delete!

I'm also running the Model 001 thermostat ............. WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT!
I wasted SO much $ on 3 stock thermostats! Never again.

Viscous Heater Delete Kits are Back in Stock ready for immediate shipping.

Has your Viscous Heater clutch bearing failed or is the heater unit leaking coolant?
Or, would you just like to remove (delete) the power robbing unit from your engine for good?

Simple bolt on replacement with no other parts required.
Comes with complete step by step illustrated install procedures and a free decal.

Free 2-3 day Priority Shipping in the US. Additional shipping charges will apply on non-US orders.
PM or email if you would like to order one.

Do you still have one? Please message me details and I will probably bite. I will install it along with the custom thermostat this fall. I just think that heater thing is so ugly lol, no problems otherwise, and the tune supposedly turns it off.

Answered your PM. Check your messages.
I have two units currently in stock ready for shipment.
You can remove the relay (No. 36) in the Power Distribution Center (TIPM) under the hood to disable it electrically. (ran mine this way for years before I developed the delete kit)
See picture No. 2

Hey, I have also deleted the viscous heater but haven't removed the relay as you suggested but I'm just wondering with all the electrical components as factory and just the heater remove/unplugged what would happen if I was to press the aux heat button on the dash?
When the pump was in place it would idle higher whenever the pump was engaged when cold so would it effectively idle higher without the pump and because there is on load from the pump it would idle slightly higher or could it cause an issue?

What aux heat button on the dash are you talking about???
The viscous heater is controlled by the ECM based on temperature, there are NO buttons to operate it.

Hey there,
I meant to say that when I was to turn on the heat not the aux button, that wasn't what I was saying sorry.
Like if I use the heat function in cold climate it used to engage this pump when really cold and engine started but I haven't taken it to colder area yet so I was meaning to ask what it would do different?

Like when it engages this pump it would idle a little higher so without the pump there to put load on the engine does it idle even higher or it does something different?

Does that make sense hopefully it does

There is NO high idle function associated with the viscous heater.
What I believe you are hearing most likely is engine loading when the clutch engages on the viscous heater and puts additional drag on the crankshaft.

Removing the viscous heater and its associated power relay will not change or affect anything else electrically.
Its operation is based solely on temperature sensor inputs to the ECM.
The Viscous Heater provides very little heat input into the coolant going to the cabin heater.
Whatever heat it does generate is quickly dissipated by the heater core heat exchanger.
