Hi all, picked up a 2004 matching color tailgate for my 2005 Liberty from the pick your part. Removed all components from the 2004 to install the 2005 pieces and the latch by the handle isn’t the same and won’t bolt in. Checked with a local junk yard and a body shop and both show 2002-2007 Liberty’s should interchange. Anybody know what the deal is?

From research tailgate handle latch changed in 2005 to new style. Change doesn’t show up on interchange manuals. Still on the lookout for a silver 2005-2007 tailgate. Boneyard quotes are $150 and body shop says $400 to prep and paint one to match. Pick your part is $40.
