Auto Transmission shifter cable bushing replacement help!

Right at the selector shifter lever on the transmission - the cable has popped off.
The inner white bushing inside the cable end is all rotten away.
The stud is short on the selector shifter lever so there is no room for a E clip or hitch pin.
And many listings for a replacement bushing seem incorrect on the web.

If it is the same white plastic bushing used on the transfer case end shifter cable, the part number is: 68064273AB
They are available to order online.

I tried that one, it doesn't fit, too large. I wish it did! I replaced the transfer case one while there - it was shot!

The Mopar parts websites do not show a separate bushing for the transmission shifter cable or shifter lock cable where it attaches to the shift levers on the transmission, I looked everywhere. All they show is the cable which I am assuming comes with the bushing already installed in the cable end.
If it were mine, I would try to make a bushing out of metal tubing.
or Google the part numbers shown in the drawing below. :wink:
